Not really mad at it anymore. Just a mechanical thing that broke. I don't like the idea of mixing new and 75,000 mile gears so I'm still thinking I'll buy an engine out of a wreck, and use the entire tranny. My money is still on a failed snap ring. That will piss me off if all this heartache is caused by the failure of a 10 cent part. If that turns out to be the problem, I'm definitely going to look into alternative snap rings. Perhaps something like this
