Rockets Across America VI

If one ticket is going to scare you slow , you just might be riding the wrong machine.

Escort radar detectors makes a cordless battery powered detector that works well on bikes. I swipe the Passport 8500 X50 out of the car to use on the windscreen of the bike for trips into unfamiliar territory and sometimes just for the commute to work.

I still get a speeding ticket every few years, as fast as I drive/ride getting busted once in a while is to be expected. One thing I've learned, NEVER pay the ticket and plead guilty!!! Dispute it, plea it down to a non moving violation with a higher fine, or just hire an attorney to do it for you. The extra cost up front to get it reduced is nothing compared to increased insurance and just having it on your record. All courts are greedy, they would rather have more money in fines than put a speeding violation on your record. PAY THE BRIBE , LOL.

yes I agree with HF, always plead guilty and go to the hearing! for one the cop may not show up! go early and ask to speak with the officer! be nice be honest! explain you cannot afford the points on your record! and ask if he would consider lowering the charge to 5 over or another non point violation! the cops in my area always show up early! they are usually talking to the secretaries! he will say he cant suggest that in court! but if you do! he will not object! Im on my 6th ticket and so far everyone has been lowered to 5 over! or in pa we have 3211A (failure to obey traffic control devices) a non point violation! ;)

a thought...

Since several Captains are thinking of installing the Eastern Beaver H4 Relay Kit, who would be interested in a small workshop Saturday afternoon to go over the install? Perhaps some brave Captain would offer their beast up for sacrifice and we could install the kit right there. It shouldn't take more than an hour.
