I came across this and thought I would put it forward here for those wanting a tach. Still British too. No idea if it will work but supposed to be good for 1-6 cylinders.

Duk,
That there WAS funny - to me anyway.
Whilst growing up, frequently in Dad's Indian shop, I continuously heard my Dad *****ing out Smiths and Lucas electric products!
You gave me a great memory flash . . . thanx for that!

Then you guys would appreciate that I gave my all last Saturday night at our annual midwinter beat the February blahs event, "The Joseph Lucas Memorial Push"! Braving the winter snow I headed to downtown Toronto and met up with an unruly gang that looked more fifty shades of gray than a vintage motorcycle group and we proceeded to drink copious quantities of English ale between mad bouts of pushing a 1969 Triumph from pub to pub through 6" of slushy snow.

When I was a young fellar we used to call Joseph Lucas the Prince of Darkness, he was a genius he invented intermittent self cancelling everything Electrical on a vehicle, a safety feature on motorcycles were head and tail lights that flashed on and off to make other road users aware of your presence, a system of smoke signals to pre warn riders that a electrical failure was eminent, and melting electrical wire coating to make identification of short circuited item easier, a Man before his time :notworthy:

Ah yes Joe Lucas - The prince of darkness. The (dark?) art of turning electricity to anti-light.

Smiths are now made by somebody else. http://www.caigauge.com/

Their PRISM range is very possibly the BEST set up for visibility I've seen day and night. I have one mounted in my Guzzi. Still works despite having managed to destroy the front glass.

The speedo on the thunderbird and tbird Storm have the same style speedo with tach along the bottom where the fuel gauge is on the r3t, has anyone seen if that unit will work?

I was just reading the posts about a tach for the R3T and thought I would share my solution.... cost me $26
