I like the idea . . . don't get me wrong. The devil is in the details, and if I knew for what I was looking . . . perusing the eBay listings and "Ah HA ! That's IT !" . . . but I don't.

Perhaps Tom can provide the dimensions, and the reference for the enclosures of which you write ?

Provided with that information, I would definitely pursue that route.

Thank you. :)

I have ordered an "8K Chronometric", betting on the come that with help from where I know not, we'll get it mounted.

http://kullendesign.com/smithgaugewebsite/chronometric/

He says he doesn't have any in stock, though there is supposed to be one available in a shipment currently in customs, due "any day now".

Once I have more information on how the tach "wants to be mounted", I'll post here, asking for the Wisdom of the List in fashioning a mount worthy of our beautiful Rockets.

Never saw the need for a Taco on a big bikes like I have had, never had a 2 stroke bike or a bike that had to be kept in the torque range, just use the seat of the pants taco, just like a horse you kick it in the guts when you need to go, I have had tacos on many bikes and never looked at them after the novelty wore off, if you spend most of your life watching a taco on big Diesel engines where revs ranges and torque ranges are critical the last thing I need is to clock watch a torque monster like the rocket ,an oil pressure and temperature gauge would be nice, otherwise just twist and go ,and if I over rev in 5th its good night Irene

One might get an ODB2 Bluetooth adapter and some software for a smartphone or small tablet to display data. Tach data should be one of the dials. Someone here already did this and got it working (but of course that's not an always-there tachometer.)

I just tried this. Got the OBD2 off eBay for less than $10.00. The app was free. Works pretty good. Just hard to see in daylight. Face of dials was dark. If they were white background , would be sweet. Gives a lot of different data.

I'm old school, and a data bigot. The 1968 BMW 1600 on which I learned to drive. All the "cool" cars over which I lusted as a young person . . . remember the Pontiac Judge ? Actually had a tach in the hood . . . and my gorgeous (in my mind) 1971 Jaguar Series III 2+2, with its suite of crisp Smiths gauges . . . what can I say . . . I like that look and I like that data.

I'm going to get one, and hope someone here can help with the handlebar mount, either directly, or suggestion..
