Just heard a rumor that Triumph is coming out with the new Rocket III P series ,he said the USA has already taken 8000 pre-orders. Cost around $14,000+

Ah - but it's on Faecesbook / twatter. MUST BE TRUE. :D

I DO NOT KNOW IF TRIUMPH INDULGES IN SUCH SKULDUGGERY - But I have been party in the past to campaigns of misinformation via resellers to keep the fidgety faithful.
You say a new thing is in the pipeline and a fair few of the faithful will "wait to see".
It's a double edged sword. If that promised never comes or what comes is a let down - usually backfires BIG TIME.

If the International VIN homologation number is the same - it the same bike (except looks). If it's not EURO4 it will not be sold as such (the fines are frightening) unless they are SVA vehicles. i.e. sold "as is" - modified (I believe they then use Construction and Use reg's in the UK), maybe then as US Grey Import models .

ime of such issues - it can be a huge minefield. Insuring can be a real bugger. Here it most certainly is. My old Guzzi is a US spec bike - but as it's 38 years old in October it predates all the rules - so it is insured as a Classic bike, without being plated as such, via a specialist broker.

I'd love to see the TOTAL sales breakdown for Trumpet. Worldwide. % of income but not specific models. See loads of Bonnies and street triples here. Flagship or "Ya boo sucks to the rest of you" vehicles are often overall losses. Made/sold to boost the bread and butter sales. Also a great way to write off R&D costs for other things.

And whilst this may seem a bit odd - the R3's power/size is a hinderance in some countries, where insurance is based on bhp ( I can remember near fainting in Germany). And road tax on cc's - Here it's not - it seems to be based more on perceived repair costs.

Here in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Rocket 3 rego is just in the "600cc or over" category.

re the earlier post: "Yellow Custard Cream", "Top Secret", with 8000 pre-orders is all I need to call some one's had a wank and is searching for the tissue box.

Being happily retired from a "Top Secret" National Security position in an Federal Government sector full of wankers, I feel I'm qualified to comment.;)

I'll believe rumors about a new R3 when I see an official announcement from Triumph.

US emissions laws - especially the saner spots like California - are pretty strict, and the Euro4 ones are too. Combustion engines in general are a dying concept, and even the American car manufacturers are starting to go to 6 cylinder designs like the ecoboost just to have a prayer of meeting emissions regs while making decent power.

If i'm not mistaken, California is the only state that emission tests every combustion engine. All other states only test vehicles with 4 or more wheels.
