Performance oil filter for 2.5 Rocket

Because you are not going more than 1 oil change between filters, it makes no difference. They all have a 10 ish micron filtration level. Just get a wix or mobile one. It's not a big deal to use the cheapest one you can get. If you want to pinch every penny then the answered is wix.
 
I have always been a Purolator Oil Filter fan. The new Boss filter fits well and is made for synthetic oils. PBL14610 or PBL14612 work well.
 
As the cheapest thing on my Rocket III, I always look for alternatives to OEM that are comparable or superior products to use. Often there are products that are better for less money. We as a community share this info and let each owner decide what is right for them. Yes the OEM items are often quite good. But often too, very expensive.

So, you think an aftermarket filter is superior to an OEM one? If the OEM is all the motor needs, why would that matter?
 
He is saying, only use an aftermarket filter if it is at least equal too or better filtration wise, and cheaper than the OEM. I have always tried to use the OEM filter. I know many aftermarket ones would be fine but early on after I purchased my Rocket, I informed the dealer I would be doing all my servicing at home. My concern was warranty. They informed me that so long as I used OEM filters along with Triumph approved oil I would be covered. I always have several at home because the few times I get to head south and drop in at a Triumph dealer, I pick one up out of habit.
