Performance oil filter for 2.5 Rocket

I searched a lot and found this one,
i chose it because of
- its better quality, many youtubers reviewed it after cutting it open with 50K miles on it
- heavy built
- OEM is lighter in weight
- better flow
- cheaper $ than OEM triumph filter

OH NO! Not the great oil filter debate again?

I got to researching oil filters, and came across that K&N was made in same factory as the worlds most sold powersports filter, hiflofiltro, so i bought a few, they are the same in every way as the k&n, weight size weldings gasket. Just info as i didn’t realize hiflofiltro was the most sold powersport filter in the world. Just passin some info. Hiflofiltro 5 microns

I would say to make the claim you would have to cut them apart and measure the length of the filtering material .
which is probably a good idea for you to keep and eye on the metal if you are producing any

Imo motorcycles have such a low service life / intervals for oil due to heat and wet clutch, that the filter and for the most part, the oil does not matter as long as it meets spec. Lots of investment and research has shown that there is no difference between the filters or oil that has the word " motorcycle" on it vs regular oil. Again as long as it meets spec.
Wix seems to be the go to for cheap vs quality.
I purchased a box of Purolators for my ninja for about $2 a pop. a box of 10 filters for $20 bucks. service on her is every 2.5K miles so i use them FAST.
Oil filter cross-references is a great site too.

K&N is trash across the board in every respect. the air filters get a bit of a break but with a warning of caution due to MAF damage and silica injection.
There is NOTHING "performance" about an oil filter or oil other than heat tolerance over time. any "race" situation does not care as that stuff gets changed every event anyways.

the only thing you should care about is cost and keeping fresh parts on her at very often intervals. past that is DOES NOT MATTER. but if you are a bling addict who must have the cherry flavored oil from MrRaceFuels then by all means spend $80 a oil change for no reason other than denying the feeling of being scammed.

Never heard of those hiflofiltro filters but they sure do look like the K&N.
Says K&N on them stamped and printed.
Very low quality very expensive filters for no reason what so ever other than "racecar" I say this becuase K&N "claims performance due to a "higher flow" but they do this based on the worst filters flow rate and having ONLY a 30 micron filtration when you really should have about 15 to 10 micron filtration.
No filter is going to be " performance.
Tested and proven.

NO it doesn't have anything on the hiflofiltro if you were paying attention. Why don't you just use one of those toilet paper filters and save a few more bucks mr oil filter expert.

im not an expert but i do pride myself in making and finding rabbit holes of information by diving off the deep end for no reason other than to seemly waste time, but i DO retain most of what i learn. If i paid up for a "quality / performance oil and or oil filter i would have spent more then i spend on tires by now, and i go though a lot of tires for an amateur casual rider!
Service life on oil and filters is LOW AF, 2500 miles per bike, the rocker is really like 3500, i put about 20K on my bikes and another 25K on my truck a year collectively. you can do the math! i already have!
I never said those high flows were K&N. show me where i did.
Its not hard to look things up now days and plenty of videos by experts who have spent the time and $ to figure it out. Im just offering what i have found so you can make a decision on your own and i weigh in my thoughts but i never demanded you or anyone do anything. We ride motorcycles... literally the definition of being a free thinker unless your a HD vest guy JK

When you buy filters in bulk (not hard to do) and you buy oil when its on a supper sale, it makes a difference. I spend about $18 to do the rocket, and $12 to change the ninja and about the same on the nighthawk.
I have yet to see a good sale on oil this year, 3 years ago i purchased 8 boxes of 10-40 T4 for about $4 a quart and the filters for the ninja for about the same. its bad enough tires for her are $60 front and $70 rear and only get about 5K miles on them, but the amount of riding i do for work (home inspections) and Bathroom remodeling quotes pays the mileage reimbursement. every buck counts.
WHY spend it on scam filters and cherry flavored performance motor oil. Do so research, learn, and apply it to your wallet.
