Mike - it is a cinch to lock pretty much any CPU - IF you really want to. iirc the Triumph approach on other bikes has been to use dual CPU's - it meant that not even dealers could reset them. i.e. failure does not mean just try again. It meant return to factory.

Getting in requires some weakness in the access logic - and the determination to do so. You need to find a bored but focused teenager. That or simply replace the ECU with something "interesting" and call Rob @Claviger .

Well I believe your comment about "the determination to do so", is the key. There is no reason to do it if an easy alternative is provided. I didn't mean to turn Sonny's thread into a discussion on computer security, but rather just thought it amusing that Triumph thought it had the technical ability to "lock" an ECU. It appears that they just made it more difficult and unnecessary.

Just my 2 cnts.

With that kind of power and power setting options out of the box, I would be reluctant to modify it. Wait until others make such experiment. Some bikes do better than others with modifications unless they are done by a pro racing team and pockets are deep. We will all wait patiently for the reveal.

Whos going to get number 666 :D

YOU of course!

In the eye of the beholder.

Humans are remarkable in our ability in all walks of life to swear up and down something isn't, or is, independent of what others see or don't.

"I BELIEVE !"

Now you sound like another Democrat against Kavanaugh!?!?!
