OK Warp I will answer, firstly the deadhorse stinks. Funny how I can run up a 250hp R3 with 195ft with no wheelspin? Or a blown 235 ft lb plus R3 for that matter. Probably because I tie them down well and I am not running it up on a 17 yr old DJ160 with no load control and a worn out drum. Phil, all of pretty much anything is fair to say. Who gives a toss? What is not fair to say is post # 89 by your friend IMFASTOO. It is misleading and inaccurate. Go back and read it. He claims to have acheived figures the same as the graph shown with "just cams" , he says it in print in post #89. It is NOT true. We then go on for 25 pages or so about every other thing in Bob's catalogue, but dodge the actual claim or fact. The JUST CAMS now turns into a $4570Au package of parts. THAT is definately it for me. I apologise in advance for returning to this thread.
YA nev
If you look on their web site, they tell you exactly what's in the kits.

WOAH, Phil!
If Art had been forthright in his statements that his definition of the word "cams" actually included springs, under bucket shims and titanium keepers this whole imbroglio (good word BTW) would have been eliminated.
Those other parts are indeed crucial to longevity and to expense!
Your explanation is what Art should have stated and at least acquiesced to after receiving all the questions regarding this.
YES BULL then go with the less expensive LUSH drop in cams that use the stock springs ,buckets, shims, and retainers that will save you a few dollars

WE also have drop in cams if you want to save a few dollars

YOU did purchase a set of cams lifters springs etc and a ported head from CARPENTER didnt you LES ?
YES Art I did, I then took the head to the guy over here I use & asked him to modify it for me, flow rates are high.
Cams & springs are on my bench now, I use Australian ones for bigger power/high rpms.

I think it's about time this thread was locked...................

WHY ? No personal attacks, nothing too offensive, if you do not like it, DO NOT READ IT ! Adults can make their own choices surely?
Censorship is the thin end of the wedge & should be a last resort.

And save the need to remove & strip the head, hence the term "Drop in"
Cam cover off & bung em in.

SURE LES whatever you say your the man

NO Art I am not THE man I am just my own man,
happy to use some Carpenter stuff, some Lush stuff together with a twist of English flair
Carpenter are good, but the right to make power is not exclusively theirs.
Sorry if it offends you that my multi national bike makes a lot of power
Triumph say go your own way, & that is what I do.
