Why? This is still a reasonably polite and respectful thread & conversation, Mike.

It seems fair to say that Neville Lush & CES have the best to offer power hungry Rocketeers domestically in OZ and that Carpenter Racing has the best to offer to the public domestically here while at the same time owning world-beater status for the go-fast crowd. Other subjective and cosmetic considerations aren't really germaine to that subject and it clear that different people have different agenda as well as differnt modus operandi.

Naturally, ultimate proof of the pudding can only be provided for anybody's eyes to see by head to head runs on the street, at any racetrack and on a dyno. So, what's the big whoop?

OK Warp I will answer, firstly the deadhorse stinks. Funny how I can run up a 250hp R3 with 195ft with no wheelspin? Or a blown 235 ft lb plus R3 for that matter. Probably because I tie them down well and I am not running it up on a 17 yr old DJ160 with no load control and a worn out drum. Phil, all of pretty much anything is fair to say. Who gives a toss? What is not fair to say is post # 89 by your friend IMFASTOO. It is misleading and inaccurate. Go back and read it. He claims to have acheived figures the same as the graph shown with "just cams" , he says it in print in post #89. It is NOT true. We then go on for 25 pages or so about every other thing in Bob's catalogue, but dodge the actual claim or fact. The JUST CAMS now turns into a $4570Au package of parts. THAT is definately it for me. I apologise in advance for returning to this thread.

No worries, Nev. I really am not looking to belabor this any further other than to state simply and clearly that Bob's idea of a "Cams Only" package is cams plus all the supporting parts to have them perform optimally. That is to say that any cam job he does leaves his shop with stronger valve springs, better (under bucket) shims, titanium retainers, etc. So, I believe that this imbroglio is all about semantics and different philosophies about how to do the job (cams, in this case) properly and thoroughly.

Phil, I must have, since 2004/5 accumulated maybe 15 or more different grinds of cams for the rock. Some do not need better springs, under bucket shims, some do.

Same answer. You do know quite a few big words BTW. Knock yourself out mate.

For now, it's neither worth the time or effort, Nev. Big words have nothing at all to do with any of this and you know that full well. This is all about integrity, precision engineering and mechanical expertise. Period!;)

Ah, so one of our Chit-Stirrers-in-Chief weighs in at last.

So tell me, oh great wizenheimer, what do stronger springs, better shims and tougher retainers have to do with making power at all? "Cams only" from the Carpenter shop simply implies the inclusion of the proper bits. You're just stirring the pot, very futilely, BTW.

Thems that can, do. Thems that can't fling baloney. You should open your own delicatessen.

WOAH, Phil!
If Art had been forthright in his statements that his definition of the word "cams" actually included springs, under bucket shims and titanium keepers this whole imbroglio (good word BTW) would have been eliminated.
Those other parts are indeed crucial to longevity and to expense!
Your explanation is what Art should have stated and at least acquiesced to after receiving all the questions regarding this.

was seriously thinking of taking my07 to carpenter when had the funds maybe april after tax money but the way his representive? imfastoo talked around bush misrepresented it all think I will steer clear

If you look on their web site, they tell you exactly what's in the kits.
