GEARFOX BUCKED!

The Triumph dealership here recommended silkolene 15 / 40 and to be fair , gearbox feels slicker than it did with the Castrol !

The Triumph Dealership in Birmingham (UK) used to use Castrol, exclusively, but now recommends Fuchs Silkolene 10w40 Fully Synthetic (it's Red in colour) and I've just replaced it, after the 500 mile run-in period, with Amsoil 10w40...

I see they make a 15w50 also I would side with the 50 weight over here but we have sunlight

Here's one for you....

Took 'The Beast' out today, 7am - 7pm, which consisted of 9 hours of actual riding. The whole day involved ALL types of roads, Motorways, 'A' roads and 'B' roads...Cities, Towns and Villages.
Changing gears upto 4,000 rpm.

Two Thirds of the way into the journey, I hit a clear section of Dual Carriageway, off a Roundabout (it's an 'English/UK' thing
)
I took 2nd gear upto 5,000 rpm, attempted to change into 3rd.....and nothing, hard metal, would not go into 3rd. Revved it, changed down to 2nd and back up, into 3rd. The same thing happened from 3rd to 4th

Took it easy (no higher than 4,000 rpm) for the rest of that part of the journey.

Set out on the last part of the expedition and Lo and Behold, 2nd to 3rd was OK, but 3rd to 4th, was no go

What's happening? Is it me? WTF!? Any ideas...Warranty running out!

Apologies for the detailed (long and boring) account, but I thought it would help...

Nay luck Red, Get on the phone tomorrow and give em hell. I'd ask for the warranty to be extended on the box as a gesture of goodwill. Got to say I've 55000 on my 08 Classic and no problems with the box,Only a broken detent spring.

Come on Red it was Scorching in Birmingham on Friday,I drove through on the Rocket on the way to Surrey.
