Almost officially broken in, should I do it?

Keep in mind, motor companies are asking you to not only seat the rings, but wear in the trans gears, bearings, seals, pads, and it's unwritten but expected that if something fails or starts to fail you'll notice because your riding in a sedate manner on a new bike so little things will stand out. There are a lot of good reasons to be fairly gently the first few hundred miles, but, the days of "It'll loosen up over the first 5,000 miles" ended about 2 decades ago or more.

I agree with you Scotsman . Two banger , then maybe ? But a modern 4 stroke has been start stopped and built with enough tolerance to be ridden like you stole it . Just don't mis shift !

Funny , I have a friend who is a metalagist ( too lazy to check spelling) ...he gets involved in aircraft design and accidents and all that...anyway he agrees. He said after about 50 miles or so he’d swap out the oil and ‘off ya go’.
I took mine steady to 500 miles. Then over the last few weeks and installed air box delete , DPs, PCV , new map etc.
