Carpenter 240 pack

Welcome Beast! The R3 is pretty cool huh? Not my favorite bike but in the top five anyway. V-Max has it beat hands down...as does the awesome new Diavel by Ducati but this big bad Triumph is a great bike! Has lots of potential for augmentation by superior outfits like Carpenter Racing, Boost is Good, Rotrex and others. With enough dinero and work and high end components you too can run with the big boyz!

Yes, Dracul. The R3 is really nice. I contemplated the Vmax and Diavel as well, but 3 guys locally whom I spoke to (who own all 3 models) told me their choice pick for an all rounder was still the R3 so I went for that.

G'day Beast, welcome from Canberra. Hadn't noticed that you'd snuck in here amongst the power junkies. Good to have you onboard. I'd be very interested to hear how you go with a souped up Rocket in Singapore. Can't see you using too much of it down Orchard Road! ;) Good luck with your mods whichever way you go and keep us posted.

Hi CanberraR3..

Yes, I am a sneaky fella

I'm assuming you've been to Singapore by the message you posted. And you're right, the power won't be much good down orchard road (but that stretch I usually ride slower so people can admire te bike. Lol)

The mods are for highway use and overtaking purposes. (plus the underground drag races that does occur in this tiny little country of mine )

Will definitely keep you guys updated as to how my mods go.

I can not handle any more bullsh-t in my life to send my bike $8,500 bike 900 mile across the country to have custom work done in which it turns out will be when they get to it. That custom shipping will cost $2,000 alone.
Sorry boys been down that road before in my own state. Get ready to lose your bike.
This is a cocktail brewed to screw, and the court system is not able to settle any of the issues.
You want 250 HP by a Boss Hoss.
Trust me $16,000 used, and $40,000 new sounds dam good considering the rocket project could turn into a nightmare cost just that.

It seems that you really don't know what you're talking about, Bubba. Carpenter Racing is one of the foremost motorcycle engine performance shops on the planet and their integrity is beyond reproach. Pretty much everything you posted is false and inaccurate.

To tell people on a public forum absolutely misleading, potentially libelous bullshyte, as you have just done is not irresponsible, it is potentially actionable in a court of law.

My money says that you are one of the repeat offender lurker-losers that occasionally pops their heads up from the sewers , simply to stir the pot. Pop back under from whatever rock you crawled out from under.
So who are you? Really!;)

Back in December had 240 pack installed, and had Triumph ECU issues with it finally leaving me with dead bike.My local dealer would not warranty it blaming Carpenter racing, and could not even buy one as they where back ordered, seams to have been a problem as after aprox. a month wait the new ECU also fried ! Carpenter Race really stepped up to the plate replacing free of charge. In my opinion, Carpenter Racing has high integrity and are people of their word. The bike has now been running great and is very drivable at low speeds. Wouldn't know anything was even done, but oh baby, hang on for your life if you turn up the wick. Runs, runs smoother, and gets better mpg along with phenomenal power. Anyone considering a 240 pack won't be disappointed.

Regards,
Gary

Carpenter did fine by me with the 210 package. I really don't like how Art talks to customers, but as for the work and Bob, it seems top notch to me. Carp did credit the the shop I went to for some parts and they refunded me that money - I dont know what it was all about exactly, but was happy to get some money back.

Since there was talk of money I will add this - with having my shop tear the bike down and carp do the heads and cams, with all the other mods like the air box TOR's and crossover it cost me around 5 grand. Even with that added 5k the total price is still lower (I paid 14k + 5k = 19K total) the vmax (20k) and carbon duc (20k) for 180 rear HP. Pretty good IMO. I am just put Jardines on and will go for another tune, I expect 190-200 rear HP, and if I would have bought Jardines 1st I would have still been in that 5k range for 200HP with carp racing.

Glad I am not prone to nightmares like you:eek:

I like the 210 pack, it's a good option to boost power higher than other bikes (like listed) but keep the cost similar. I will report back after tuning with jardines today or tomorrow. One thing I have to say is that you lose the far bottom end, I am having the tuner check out the a/f down there, as he might have started at higher RPM, the jardines may also help with that.

With big cams part of that is to be expected, and even if it says the exact same I am happy with it, but it's something that potential customers should be aware of. If you did lots of stop/go town driving it would be more of an issue. If I don't rev the bike a bit and ride the clutch to at least 2k it will flat out die and I have to downshift leaving corners. Quite a difference from stock, but it is making 60-80+ horse more than stock. Maybe the 240 kit with increased compression helps with that, but I didn't want to have the bottom end cracked open on my new bike, or start paying lots more for power over 200hp. The 40 horse jump from 200 to 240 isn't as important to me as the 40hp from 140-180.

I will say that I really don't like Art from carp's shop, but if I hadn't tried posting my experences on another site it wouldn't have been an issue, but as for bob and the work? Great. I would do it again. And Art did eventually backed of the attitude, so I was happy with that too.

Warp bust on me all you want but hart kind of enter into what I was talking about. I had heard of a few others kind of get the feeling with their deal that even though you were paying them $6,000 they were still doing the customer a big favor by selling them something. Just hearing word of mouth talk is enough for me when a person fully understand the US legal system. Sorry but the customer gets screwed always, and people need to understand this up front.
