Bikes we owned....way back when....

Brahma is #28 on the list of bikes I have ridden over the 37 years of riding. The bike I had the longest was a 1978 Honda CR500; had it for 12 years. When I bought it, it was plumb wore out. The suspension was wasted, it had a hole on the top of the tank, (best place for a hole if you are going to have one), it was hard to start and took 15 minutes to warm up. But once it warmed up, hold the heck on. The only thing I ever changed on it from the time I bought it was oil, spark plug and about 40 brake and clutch levers. I absolutely loved dogging that bike out. I eventually sold it as it took a full week to recover after riding it for half a day. To say I ever rode it moderately would be a flat out understatement!

The picture isn't mine but one like it; only mine looked absolutely

horrible...

One of the few bikes that my Husqvarna 400 WR had a hard time beating were these things. CR 500 is brutally quick and stood on the back wheel every chance it got.

At the time I was racing, I was around 200lbs. All the way through 4th, if you goosed it, the front end was coming up.

You haven't lived until you are are riding a bike that will send its front end skyward in the middle of a power slide in dirt and leave you powersliding on the rear wheel hoping the berm will catch you! Fun times

Thanks she sits right beside the Rocket in the garage. I just ordered the Triumph Twin Power Stage 1 intake, Firestarter, and Blue Flame coils for her. I love my Rocket, but it is nice to have a smaller bike to jump on every once in awhile.

Last year of the carb models. I bought one new in 05. The dealership was trying to get me interested in their brand new model called the Rocket. Way to big and bulky.:roll::roll::roll::roll::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

thats some backrest .

It is made by Tourrest. My wife loves it. They make one for the Rocket also.

She was in a really bad auto accident in 2011 and I want to make her as comfy as possible. I also have the Mustang touring seat on the America. Her comfort was also the driving force in getting the Rocket. We went to look at a T-Bird LT and it was all black. She looked over at the Red and Black 2015 R3T and said,"honey that is a pretty bike, lets get it."
Of coarse I said "SURE" and here we are today.

That's why it took me a week to recover after riding it for just four hours...
