What do you wear when it's hot riding your rocket ?

Nothing more funny than seeing an idiot ride down the street with his helmet strapped to the seat, see a lot of idiots here in Florida now I will help anyone in need on a motorcycle except the idiots who ride in shorts flip flops no helmet while smoking

I don't smoke, but the rest sounds like my around town gear. For longer trips I'll put on jeans, and sometimes actual boots. For the past 30 plus years of riding, I've found the best way to avoid roadrash is to stay upright.

Apparently, we are in a different world here in the USA. Most people wear jeans and a t-shirt. I don't recall ever seeing anyone in full leathers on a warm day. The guys I ride with....it's generally jeans and a t-shirt or light jacket. Some wear a helmet when it's warm and some don't. When the temps drop, then a leather jacket and jeans become more standard. As for me, it's my Tour-master Draft Air 2 and jeans on a hot day. Although I'm sure to be catch hell for this...I never keep the body armor in any of my apparel. I seldom ride without a helmet and generally wear riding boots.

Yep, all the gear. Full leathers, boots and gloves but a lighter gloves and jacket than I'd wear in the winter with just a T shirt beneath it as opposed to T shirt, shirt and jumper.

the harley guys down here always suit up... i think that's a kevlar tatoo...

WTF ???? :banghead:

I respect others opinions but most of all my body so it's full gear for me whatever the weather.
Mates wife is a nurse and she has spent hours extracting stones and tar from flesh wounds even bone scraping to remove the tar.
Just that thought alone makes me a little squeamish.

Plastic gangsters here on the Gold Coast with their designer tattoos and over swollen muscles like to get around in Summer with shorts , pluggers and singlets , some without singlet , seen a few hot ladies riding which is a big plus , i always try to have the minimum jeans , covered shoes and tshirt around the burbs.

That's just about how it is up here in the Northeast too.. I usually ride the RK on those hot July and August days. The heat from the Rocket's exhaust gets to be a little much. I went down pretty bad in 2004 when my front tire blew, i was wearing a t-shirt and the road rash was pretty bad on my right arm. Just having the t-shirt on was enough to prevent road rash on the short sleeve, from that point on my arm was trashed. I have a few leather shirts i wear once and a while but even wearing them can get pretty hot and uncomfortable.

Hi all,

ATG, ATT. Full face helmet(used to use an open face, then a bit of skin got rubbed of one check), gloves, boots, chaps and jacket. We recently bought Triumph Navigator jackets. We haven't tested them in the rain to check the waterproof part. The zip open vents are very nice. On a hot day, a neck cooler helps alot.

Later,
Jerry C
