What do you wear when it's hot riding your rocket ?

@cardinal93: Was in Berlin last week. Didn't drop noticeably below the top 30s all week, with 40 for the weekend (and no wind:eek:). For someone who doesn't tan, but burns, and for whom the most comfortable temperature is liable to give frostbite, this called for a lot of cold beer and hiding from the sun.

In that case, if you were in Australia you would be permanently drunk and never come out of your house.. you might blend right in!

The type of protector that's best depends on the type of thump. I have one of those in my Vanson.
But the Swedish protectors are softer and what the UK police chose on test results. It's what I have in my Halvarsson. (OK I have it's predecessor - not vented)

What's NOT well appreciated is that if you have a thump - they should be CHANGED.

I made a back protector using a mix of materials for an old jacket. C/F reinforced Polyurethane and two grades of visco "foam". I can be knocked over before I feel the hit/punch.

I use a similar one, Halvarsson as well, but the 'standalone' type, prefer knowing that my back brace is going to stay where it's needed no matter what the jacket does. Also the big kidney belt helps hold the gut in!

I have been wearing a Joe Rocket mesh jacket with fitted Knox armour.

As for the rest, Kevlar lined cargoes, boots, gloves and Shoei Qwest.

Get a bit hot around the knackers when stopped but okay going along with temps up to 38C in the last few weeks.

Winter
Open face helmet - always
Face mask - scares the sh** out of kiddies and old ladies, till you get off the bike and they see an 'Ol fart.
Scarf -
Standard leather jacket - no protection
Gloves - padded with knuckle protection
Boots - Texan style

Summer
Tee shirt - sleeves ragged and cut off on hot days
Shorts - usually cut off jeans but the inner thighs cop the heat
Gloves - fingerless (just to show off)
Track shoes

Guess thats why I've broken so many bones, I'm covered in scars and have 2 titanium cages embedded permanently through my spine to enable me to walk.

I ride to be free and wrapped head to toe in armour kinda defeats the purpose.

Tee and jeans open helmet sometimes a mechanic button shirt and mesh gloves. That's when it's in the mid 80s. Very humid here in Nebraska, believe it or not.

No one's mentioned how invincible you become when you wear a little engineers cap while you're on the bike.
I believe you become so badass that accidents are apparently afraid to happen.
