Well, the day started out $hitty

If you like black and mid foot pegs

Think of this Fred. I have considered it. Buy a new Roadster. Change the tins to the red ones we have now. If the foot peg position isn't right change the rails too.

Sorry I was on my phone and have fat fingers and poor eyes when not wearing glasses. A good friend of mine uses Robinsons for all his stuff and always speaks highly of them. He is a longtime drag racer at a high level in his class. I also get good reports about Mark from R&D transmissions.

Thanks ! Can't decide if it's worth spending a bunch more money on this bike. This will be the second time it's had shrapnel run through it. It's 12 years old and has 75,000 miles on it. Might be better to get a different one and use this one for parts.

Today I went and looked at an 06' Classic with 30,000 miles on it for $4,000 obo. Didn't ride but heard it run. Sounds good. In very nice condition. The only thing that's keeping me from buying it is, it $hit its third gear about 10,000 miles ago. It was repaired at a dealership and the fellow hasn't had any problems since, but I'm leary of buying one I know has already f'd up.

Here is our trans lesson for the day. WHENEVER you start disassembling a gear cluster. ALWAYS move the bearings, spacers, gears, clips etc. straight onto another shaft of some sort. Many times gears, collars etc. will look almost identical from one side to another, but will only work correctly one way. The pictures in the manuals generally don't have the fine detail to figure which way a part goes if you lose track. Learned that a long time ago doing a transmission for Honda V-65 Magna. In this pic I've used a long socket extension.
