Tachometer for touring

Possibly. The trick is, on the Touring, for practical purposes any mount needs to be *above* the handle bar. Where the original mounted, in general did not allow for a windscreen, and with the Touring windscreen in place, there is insufficient room to attach anything substantial such as even one of those binnacles to a handlebar clamp bolt. I'm at a loss, and Tom says he doesn't want that responsibility.
 
Is there any reason apart from mounting position why a tacho from a Standard/Classic/Roadster can't be fitted to an R3T? What would be involved?

Cost. tbh - it's easier to get a neat little KOSO/Daytona (whatever) unit which comes with bike mounts and simply fit it. About 70-80 quid in the UK.
