Thanks Jagster. Already saw this care of another thread I came across and tried the settings but problem persists. Still think it's wheels/tyres or both. Played around with other settings as detailed in handbook but no change. Speaking to dealer tomorrow.
Good morning,

I also have a problem with the suspensions of this bike...As long as the asphalt is smooth everything is fine but as soon as it deteriorates the handlebars move a lot from right to left...I have the impression that the motorcycle will eject me ! It's really painful and, perhaps, dangerous too !
Yes, I tried the settings suggested in the video but it hardly changes anything. I think the engine weight, motorcycle length and fork trail are poorly matched in certain circumstances. Many motorcyclists in Europe who ride like me...a little too fast and on roads with a lot of bends and very average surfaces have changed the rear shock absorber but I don't see any change regarding the fork ! It's weird although I think the rear Showa is not the best choice...

Good morning
Just dropped off my bike at the dealer and they lent me a Speed Twin while they assessed the Rocket. Nice little bike but interestingly, on this bike, what I was feeling from the rear of the Rocket, I was feeling on the Speed Twin forks, whatever the road conditions. A little bobble as if the compression settings needed increasing, although I noticed that there is no facility to change them. The rear was as smoothe as silk, like I am expecting on the Rocket so maybe your comments are applicable and it's just the suspension and not wheels or tyres. I await their conclusions. Regarding your bike, if the front end wobble is that serious then you do have a problem. Needs to be remedied quickly I believe!

Thank you for your feedback, I had the Rocket tested by a friend who specializes in suspensions, particularly motocross and supermoto, and according to him it is more of a problem due to the initial design of the bike. Triumph would have sought to maximize the handling of the bike in order to compensate for its length and developed this fork axle placed at the rear...in short, I am looking for a solution !!! I found rear shock absorbers but not much for the fork...

fork spring: Progressive Fork Springs for Triumph Rocket 3/III

It's just the spring so I don't really see the point... I think I would have to go for a complete interior with Öhlins style divers and pistons but it's nowhere to be found... :(:(:(

I will chime in here... I am not sure if what you are experiencing is normal. I have had a lot of bikes... including 2 Rockets and with tweaking the suspension I find it extremely comfortable and sure footed. I can get the rear end to almost glide over bumps and settle quite quickly. The front end with 2 clicks on each setting as default never feels twitchy or bouncy as you describe. I can not really offer any solutions but one thing that may help is to take it to a suspension expert and have them set it up for you and in doing so maybe you will find either a fault in the equipment or a setting we are all over looking for you. The other big factor is tires.. but you can only eliminate that by spending the money. Have you gotten the wheel balance checked?

My wheels balances are ok, my tires also. I'm still looking for a solution with my suspension specialist !

No mention about what anyone weighs. Has anyone measured the rider sag front and rear? If the springs are too heavy for your weight, the ride over bumps will never be good. Lateral handlebar movement is not right. What happens when you take your hands off the bars? I had a fairly new T120 and the headstock bearings were loose. I can’t believe the Showa suspension is not top spec. I can believe the springs are too heavy for many riders. I’m 165 lbs and the stock shock springs on my Rocket classic didn’t move at all.

same here about 160 no sag
seen a pair of shocks on ebay looked like small springs so for $125 i bought them and it turned out perfect

Hello, there is obviously a relationship between the weight of the rider and the quality of the handling, otherwise all Moto GP's would only have the same suspensions...
As for me, I weigh 105 kg and, a priori, the springs are not strong enough, which is why I am looking to change those of the fork and the rear shock absorber.

As for Showa, you shouldn't believe that the elements mounted on the Rocket are top of the range, they are of decent quality, nothing more. I have Öhlins on my Ducati and WP on my Husqvarna and I can tell you that it is clearly above, if only by the quantity of possible adjustments !

Afterwards, I admit that I drive like an a*******...so I need ******* suspensions !!! :D
