Sturgis 2011

Thanks Jess we past that truck stop on our way back from Colorado last week. It looks like a great place to stop for the night.... Sure you guys can't go it's going to be lonely riding solo would love to have some company.... tell Deanna she can even talk in all caps I wont mind :)
would love to go but I made myself a promise after 02 that I would not make that trip again with out a pop-up camper. I discovered why they were so handy if you saw a rainstorm coming, they would pull off set up camper and were set me and Tony the fellow that was I was riding with had to try to find hotel inpossible paid $50 one night to sleep in the floor of a meeting room they supplied one blanket one pillow, that is what I originally made my trailer for just never finished the tent it is designed for a queen-size mattress. I witnessed Those people the next day would fold up the tent all of their stuff was already stored and dry I might add and they were ready to roll in 10 to 15 min. it took us that long to get everything out of the hotel let alone getting it all stacked on the bike and strapped down I looked like in 1849 pack mule but really enjoyed the trip a real experience.

well i do believe that sturgis is just what i need, guess jess better get with the program or he will be here at home with his boys...lol ..im thinkin going on or about the 6th!!!!

Got back from Sturgis two days ago - 4500 miles and 13 states in 12 days. We only had one problem - that was with a (you guessed it!) 2011 Harley Street Glide. Lost all of his lights. Took it to the Harley dealership in Rapid City, SD, and they told him not to ride in the rain!:D Anyway, he is now looking for a good used R3. When we got on I-90 in SD, where we could "stretch them out," I made a believer out of him, and I was pulling a trailer!

"...not to ride in the rain."

Too funny! I think you passed me and shot me a thumbs up just outside Sturgis on the 9th when I nearly rear-ended a trike on my two-tone (burgundy/cream) R3 Classic.

I'm posting articles and pics at Tim Frazier | Zombie Apocalypse Instructor over the next week or two as I have time. Parts 1, 2, and 3 are already up.

tfraizer where were you staying ... I passed a couple of rockets and even saw one pulling out of our campground but never saw again. Could have been myself and wild willie you say we were both on 07 black and white classic tourers

Bummer! We had a big rented RV with wrapped in "Cruise America" and 1-800-rv4rent adverts all over it. I believe it was RV slot 46. If you went up to the showers the stink was probably my brother after a bowl of South Dakota worst chili on the planet. What ever posessed those folks to put brown sugar in chili?

Bleehk!!!

We hung out in Sturgis most of the day on the 9th right across the block from the R&W club house where all the alleged stabbin' and cap bustin' happened on the 10th between them and the Mongols; hit the hills and saw the sights the rest of the time. When we weren't rebuilding the starter on Bro's Yamahog, that is.
