Radiator and Clutch cover removal video

You are so right man.. We are playing the guessing game now.. Now it explains why everytime I order parts the first thing I hear is "What's your VIN number..?" :D

Thanks again Warp for bringing that to my attention. Now I'm doing Valve clearances and I can't seem to find a Shim kit here.. Bummer man:( The dealers want me to exchange shims with them and I'm like No Thank you..!!:cautious:

My is a 2006 Classic with a vin number of SMTC01L416J259165 I think vin numbers are not as important when it comes to whats in the engine as the engine serial number. It quite obvious since yours is newer them mine and my engine is newer then yours. They must install the ingines off the shelf. I wonder if the difference is because there might have been a Quality problem which makes for the older engines hanging around until they are fixed or the Quality issue is resolved. Again I am just guessing. Either way even with the problems I have had with mine I will always own a Rocket. I am not sure if I will venture past the 09 models as I love the Classic with floor boards and the two tone paint. I am looking for another one plus a extra engine just to have around. When it comes to engines I will try to find newer ones even the Roadster as they are the same. If Tiumph would sell a Roadster with floor boards I would definetly move towards a newer model. I have thought of getting one and seeing if I can add the 2014 touring floor boards to it since they have ABS now. The Millennium Falcon will be here until I crush it, as I collect spare parts. Heck I have the old original tins plus a new set of Phantom Black ones coming just because I could not resist the price. (500 bucks plus shipping so I am into them for 764 bucks)

Good work benny are you doing a video with the Valve clearances. will be great

Jokko I will give it a go this week and see if it turns out alright. My drama is trying to get the camera into a good place so everyone can see what's happening. I'll keep you posted mate.

Warp that is strange indeed man. It's like there picking engines at random. What makes for an interesting topic is the change between silver and black. Internal components between the 2 and How many are out there with a mix bag of goodies..? They would have upgraded second gear kits before the fault was even mentioned..haha

Warp can you help me with shim sizes, I just want to know if can use any other kits other than Triumph..? Thanks Warp.. =)

Benny as far as I know Triumph is the only ones that use over the bucket shims. Of course don't hold me to that but I have never heard of anyone else. Most high rpm bikes need under the shim buckets so they do not spit a shim out or split one causing catastrophic failure to the engine. I think its because they do not rev as high. I use under the shim buckets on mine but they are larger in diameter then the OEM ones. my head was machined to except them when I had my intake valves enlarged and big cams done.

Great vid's Benny, I did my clutch last year while replacing the Detent Spring, was not fun, interesting to note I have an 08 and have changed to the newer stronger lifter piece that Warp mentioned but I had a different one again to yours and had Triumph Auss trying to tell me that part number which warp have me was for the early models at first them realised that they had it arse about.

On another note I will be up at Eastern Creek flag marshalling for "The Barry Sheene Festival of Speed this coming weekend Friday, Satirday and Sunday, if you are coming to it, drop us a text and maybe we can may get together when I get a break mob# 0412017748

Thanks again everyone.. :)

To Rocket, thank you for the info mate, Atleast that allows me more options now instead of relying on Triumph.

Warp I forgot to get my VIN for you, I'll post that when I get home.

Hanso, it would be a mighty pleasure to meet you mate. I didn't hear of any advertising in regards to Eastern Creek and I work around the corner from it..haha I got your number mate, I hope my bike will be ready by then:oops:

I've been talking to a few Dealers in Sydney about our engines being a of an Easter Showbag and I'm certain now they think I'm a few sandwiches short of a picnic:confused::p

Tr3 I am at Liverpool. Looking forward to catching up with you one day.. :D
