I will try and get some pics of my Avons on here shortly. I just passed 10,000 miles on them and they are still looking really good..

I'm not a drag racer, but can't help but spin a tire every now and then. I also have almost no stop-and-go traffic. I ride 35 miles to work with few stops along the route, an occaisional bike night, and usually an annual multi-state trip to somewhere..

I have owned two previous Rockets before the Roadster with over 50K combined.Mileage on the tires has been 5500 rear and 7500 front.I do ride hard and am not much into cruising.

Hello Hellfire......I am relatively new here and have yet to try the "darkside".....whatever that may be.I have had the pleasure of reading many of your informative posts, especially those relative to the GIPro.....Thanks!

Darkside is running a car tire on the back. It's not for everyone. If your a pure performance sport rider stick with a motorcycle tire. For my part
I'll stay with the darkside. But this is the wrong forum to discuss that. If your interested check out the darkside forum.

Lester532.........Thanks for the info.I am a pure performance rider and have worked on the Triumph demo team in the Northeast.I will stay with the Metzlers.

Ewwwwww, Metzlers. :p
Well, if you like them ....
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Have you given the Avons a spin? Being that there are only a couple choices for the rear in bike tires, I wondered if you had tried the other option. I'm running one on the front now and like the way it snaps over in curves vs the Metz. They are very pricey so if they don't get at least a few thousand more miles they might not be worth it.

Had to replace front and rear tires ... Metzler

I had to replace both front and rear tire at 6500 miles. Changed to the AVON Cobra's. They(Avon) had a manufactors rebate program on, $25 off per tire in the form of a credit card.

So how do you like the set of Cobra's over the Metz? Notice any change in handling?
