tires more air

You gotta run those front tires with a lot more air to keep the wear even for more miles.
I feel a 215 coming up!

almost 10k on both the original front and rear... Almost all highway.
probably going to have to replace them this season at some point. But when I put it away after getting creamed by the TAXI, the tires were fine.

cheers

PS: WALKING AGAIN!!!

I started to get a severe wobble at about 5500 miles. The rear end had been acting a little funny for a few hundred. The dealer told me that Triumph would replace my rear Bridgestone for free. This is on a R3T. Took it up a couple of weeks ago and the took care of it. Anyone else out there with the R3T may want to look into it if the handling goes south.

not always so.

This is one poll I can't participate in. Not enough miles and not planning on getting many more for the next few months, but I BETTER get at least 10K on my 880 as gingerly as I ride. The Battalax's on my T100 still look new at 8K and that's with the sidecar attached.

I have always heard that Metzler's were a better tire than the Battalax's so, I guess we shall see. A better tire is a long lasting tire to me. I always shoot for at least 80K on my car tires and 50K on my pickup.

ive run harder compounds that last longer but when you get stuck in
rain i would much rather have a softer compound.
last spring i got stuck doing 250 miles in a torential downpour
for 10 hours barely able to see the car ahead of me.
and my metzlers hugged the rode like a champ

now most of you probably think this was stupid.
i agree .but it would of ment leaving my friend
riding by himself, wich i just couldnt do
he just wouldnt quit
also we happened to be riding on my wedding anniversary
that helped a little

I had 6703 miles on my 05 when the cage pulled out in front of me and so ended the life of the tire and the bike,:( on my 08 I only have 303 miles on the bike before snow was flying.

That's rubbing it in :D

how many are riding on what the experts ( MSF etc) would consider an unacceptable tread depth? are you waiting until its flat and smooth to change it?

I changed my first rear when I saw the belts. The second time, changed it about 1000 miles sooner - handling was definitely impaired.

Just changed mine last night! I had 4300 miles on the factory tire and had cord showing 3/4 the way around on one side. (I guess I lean harder to the left.) R3t with mostly city riding with a few long distance trips, no burnouts, and about 15% 2 up riding.

tires

i have gotten 10,000 miles on rear and 11,000 on front the first time
and 10,000 on bothe the second and got bout 6,000 on the third set and still looking good
