That there is the way the Dragon was meant to be ridden!
Best Dragon video I have seen! I almost felt like I was back there.
Those Gold wings (post 2001 1800cc) handle better in the twisties than the Rocket.
The two in the video MUST have had suspension work as I saw very little dive and bounce.
WHAT A RUSH!
Thanks for sharing this, my friend.

Mate, the camera bike scrapped on just about every corner , you can hear it touching down. If you enjoyed that you would have loved being with me and Richard down in Tassie .. run through Cradle Mountain was memorable to say the least.

Sad to say, it is what I love to do best on a motor.
The dragging prevents further lean angle. Way too common on cruisers. I aim to eliminate or greatly reduce it on my R3R.
If I go down again I want it to be from exceeding tire traction -not dragging metal lifting the tires.

20mm extra length shocks solved that for me, I really have to be over a loonngg way before I touch down now

My brand new longer 444s should do the same for me . . . I hope.
You still run a 150 front?

yup I am running a Dunlop Elite 3 in 150/80/17, it has a different profile shape, great fast steering and more feed back than Avon, at this stage (2,000 km) also appears to be wearing very good with no real signs of any wear ...... I think I may have finnaly found my favorite front tyre.

I ran Elite 3 in a 180 on the rear of my V2k which called for a 200.
Best damm handling tire I ever had on that bike (24 tires so far).
Currently running a 140 up front on the Rocket. The weight transfer and smaller profile improve the handling IMO.
Dunlop makes some very good tires. Wish I could run a set on the R3R. It's crap they aren't 17" rear and front.

Hell yeah. Best ride of my life. Had a BMW and VFR1000 trying to keep up - and they couldn't. Very little if any scraping because the road camber was near perfect. Zero traffic. Stuff of dreams for sure.

Watching the GW was a little bit like watching Ponters on that barge of a Victory he had in Tassie. He had that thing flying on the winding road down to Launceston on the first day. Funny to watch from behind because it looks like a ***ing caravan but he had it motoring for sure. Dam n shame he wasn't on his Rocket - or perhaps a good thing..........

Actually find it works well with the Excedra Max on back, jury is still out on if the Excedra will be replaced by another or go back to a DarkSide upcoming trip to SBK at Phillip Island plus going on to do another Lap of the Apple Isle (Tasmania) towing the Camper will help decide.
To be fair to the Excedra I have tried to be as Gentle as possible to get the best possible mileage out of it so have not pushed it adhesion coming out of corners like I have with both the original Metz (which failed miserably) and the Darkside tyres which never let me down, the Excedra has been good around town and in the tighter hairpins but only slightly better than the Federal 595 Darkside

The Goldwing is a great bike for what it's designed to do..awhile back my daughter moved to Yorkshire it's about a 440 mile round trip and the
Wing absolutely eats it..We go every 3rd or 4th weekend we take what we need with us..it's the only bike my wife will get on.
Don't get me wrong i'll not take it if it's pissing with rain..but other than that the heated seats and grips combined with the fairing and cruise control
make it a pleasant journey. She can get a move on if you ask her and that flat 6 is so smooth
To date it's the most reliable bike I have ever owned..i know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's a fecking good motorcycle
