Lift adapter for Roadster

I ordered my Becker-Technic through their distributor in England -- they are apparently less concerned about the liability exposure.
BECKER TRIUMPH BONEVILLE, AMERICA, SCRAMBLER, SPEEDMASTER, THRUXTON – BONEVILLE, AMERICA, SCRAMBLER, SPEEDMASTER, THRUXTON | Sportouring
It's solid and well-made, and cost a pretty penny once the shipping across the pond is figured in.
Having zero experience with any other lift, I can only say I really like the quality and function of the Becker, and have no idea how it stacks up against the other options.

Smoe,
Just curious what reasons there were for choosing this over the Flipmeister?

My memory is hazy . . . I want to say there was a short time when Flipmeister was out of stock, and didn't know when more would be available.

I was swayed by @cr0ft [who seems to have left us] arguments, and even chided him later when he found something else, after I had gone to all the trouble to source the BECKER over the objections of the German maker.

In any case, I have what I have -- not trying to sway anyone any particular way -- for this topic for sure there appear to be multiple ways to skin that cat (choose your metaphor)

As an owner of a Flipmeister stand and having seen also the Becker-Technik version, they are both fine products. I think the Flipmeister version makes more sense for US based captains, while the B-T probably makes more sense in Europe. As for Australia, well, their bikes are upside down to begin with ;)

The B-T stand is more "engineered" while the Flipmeister stand is very simple. Both work fine for their intended purpose. If you add extra casters to the B-T stand, you can move the bike around while on the stand. B-T comes with a lift handle, with Flipmeister you need a 1/2" drive breaker bar. B-T can be ordered for either 8 mm or 13 mm frame boss holes. Flipmeister stand only comes with 13 mm pins, so you need to drill the frame holes on newer bikes to enlarge them.

I changed a couple of tires with my red ATV jack and a self made jack adapter, but I was always scared by how much the jack itself flexed under the weight of the Rocket. A quality motorcycle jack ($400-$500) might solve the problem, but I figured to give the Flipmeister stand a try first. The bike is rock solid on the stand, but the downside of both of these stands is the lift height. I haven't had a chance to change tires on the stand yet, but it looks like I may need to remove the front fender and muffler for the front and rear wheels to come off, respectively.

No problema, Joe.
I just wanted to know if there was something I didn't know about and might have missed out on.
Thanks for your response.

I think you have to jack up our bike to remove the back wheel. I haven't figured out how to get it off when on the center stand.

Impressive. I'd like to see that in person. I can easily place the little Honda CB250 Nighthawk on its center stand, and it took everything I had to place the Honda ST1300 on its center stand, and the 650 V-Strom and CTX700 aren't that easy. I have a hard time imagining using a center stand on a Rocket the same way.

As I have aged it has become harder, but now I use a small 1 x 4 block under the back tire and it is just as easy.

Not real sure I'm following you. Are you in Connecticut or Germany? Jack-Be-Quick is made in the USA.
For the T-Bird units, USA shipping has been included, however overseas shipping is rather expensive. Europe is $50 higher than USA; I just sent one to Norway today, Great Britain last week and Australia last month. The Jack-Be-Quick is not yet developed for the R3. I'm hoping that it will fit into the same size box.
I'm in Connecticut, thanks
