 OTT is WTG!!!!!!
Mmmm - I have a 70Amp relay somewhere!

I received a reply from the boss at Motogadget - almost immediately. Their m-Relay is electromechanical - but they've had no issues mounting in weird positions and they're made to resist HEAVY vibration. They're expensive but tiny - one is thinking.

They also do btw a universal self cancelling flasher relay. The stuff I've seen of theirs is definitely a step or two above most in terms of quality.

Now for REAL OTT - I'm semi-considering building an intelligent light controller.
It'll know when it's daylight, real dark or urban dark (street lights) and whether there's oncoming traffic.
Maybe even know if the road's twisty.
Just switch on lights and it'll do the rest.

Why? - 2 reasons.
  1. Why not?
  2. Well it's something different to do.

OK...by special request Steel and I took a few pics tonight. First of I should say Both bikes have EB kit, Steel is running Sylvania Ultra Stars and I am running HD Daymakers. Not sure if those of you interested can tell much of a difference, but riding at night I definitely can. Here they are:

1.) Here are both bikes on low beam

2.) Both bikes on high beam

3.) Steel low beam

4.) Steel high beam

Allow me to suggest that if not - you probably should avoid riding at night.

It also shows that it matters not what Halogen bulb you put in the stock units - They're a ****ty design and waste a huge amount of available light - and what's left does not go where it's needed.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN you have to fit LED. There are plenty of H4 bulb 5&3/4" light units that will give better light than stock. The kings are probably Cibie who have started production again.

In reality GOOD halogen filled 35W sealed beams will probably outshine (pun intended) the stock units. This from a "contact" in Hella.

+1 on seeing the difference.
