GEARFOX BUCKED!

@TimR3 I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems
I would advise you not to ride it until it has been repaired. From first hearing and feeling the 2nd gear noise/vibration, it only took a few miles before (in my case) 4th gear shattered. I was very lucky, as I was close to home and pulling upto a stop, if I had been on the motorway, it could have been fatal. @mr hunt had his gearbox jam up altogether

It feels so much better now, much smoother and quieter.

It's lasted 500 miles, so far, with the oil and filter changed yesterday

GOOD LUCK! Please let us know how you get on!

Well thats not good, I am in Memphis TN and was supposed to head to Branson MO tomorrow, home in IL. No Triumph Dealer in site.

Thanks for the update

In England, we get about a week of hot weather, which is known as, 'Summer'. The rest of the time is probably, on average, around 10 degrees and less
We had summer last week ! Unfortunately I missed it . Oh well , always next year !
The Triumph dealership here recommended silkolene 15 / 40 and to be fair , gearbox feels slicker than it did with the Castrol !

If GB takes a dump, does the back tire lock up?

Only if you are on the interstate passing through St Louis, at rush hour, on a blind curve/dip.

Mr Hunts did ... and then didn't ... and then did - still got teeth marks on the seat

Eventually it locked in 5th gear. The pictures I took really don't do justice to the mess I found inside. Sadly I do wonder if this is one of those situations where the manufacturer will only take notice when one of us is killed.

I wonder if this happened to Cobber?
RIP Cobber
