Engine sputtering and backfiring

Grampi click on his post the blue Lonelec I believe it is a link.

And since you are from Dayton Ohio That is what I would add in your profile. Joliet, Illinois is nothing to brag about :)
Oh and in case you or others are not aware of it the picture below shows a new TPS installed by a Professional Triumph Technician on big Al's bike. He must of been worried about it vibrating loose so he added some extra torque. Look at the screw.

Sometimes I do not believe everything a technician says when he says I could not find anything wrong.

Yikes! I gotta get my bike back...I don't trust those guys!...and I would put Dayton in my profile if I could figure out how to edit it!

I need someone who is more Rocket specific, as I doubt any of these guys would be versed on hardware issues with the Rocket...these guys are probably "tune only" guys...

Did you pull it up? Actually some are "dyno" guys - Not all of them, but there are some on the list that are dyno experts.
(I haven't actually pulled up ones in your area, but found some here in Tejas)

I certainly believe that. However, I haven't had a problem yet with two Rockets. My new T-Bird, however, was randomly stalling at speed. Since it was random, it didn't happen when the dealer rode it. The head mechanic, who is also the owner, has been doing this for 40 years, including Pro Stock. So they went back and forth with Triumph, which didn't know squat either. He must have heard somewhere that the evaporative loss system can get plugged up, and, depending on the vapor pressure in the tank, created a momentary pull on the throttle bodies, enough to stall the engine. So he ripped it out and all was fine thereafter.
