I have a screen protector but haven't applied it yet- maybe I should, or it won't make any difference.

You guys with cracked screens- where are you located? It seemed from what I was reading a while back that most people with these were in Australia. @ArekDeBoss you're in Lalaland. I've been there, but forget when or where I was and everything else from that night :whitstling:

@Dr.D I don't think your screen cracked, did it? I thought it just went out on you.
Australia in the southern part not so hot here bike always garaged apart from out riding

Straight back to the dealer
it was straight back to the dealer anyway, got it back thursday after 4-months from having accident damage repaired, and they replaced a bunch of stuff that didn't need replacing, and left stuff on the bike that quite obviously needed replacing, this was just one more thing to add to the deficiencies list

It did develop a small crack on one of the smaller screens on the right side. It was ok for a while and I ignored it. Then one day I went to ride it and it was completely unresponsive. I load it on a trailer and took it to the dealer where they said moisture had gotten side and shorted it out. I had to buy a new one.

I'm repeating myself but would a clear screen protector cover keep the moister out even though the lens cracked beneath it? It seems it would in that instants. Trying to justify my screen protector I guess.

nothing can keep moisture out, thats why Triumph weld them with ultrasonic weld and put a moisture plug beneath. even if you lets say put superglue on it but by that time, some moisture would get in and then there you go

I wonder if the "moisture plug" is failing to allow pressure to relieve out on a hot sunny day. Seems like if it is designed to let pressure out, moisture from the humidity in the air could also get in when it cools. Otherwise it would be in a vacuum. At least the honking big Powerblade shades it some. So far so good.

So it isn't a sealed unit after all. The clear face is just sonic welded to the rest of the plastic and it breathes through the snap fit vent. I guess that keeps the rain and road spray out. Maight juast beez da vibrrrratttion dooooing themmmmm iiinn. 😨 Stress cracking the thin plastic.
