Carpenter Questions

1.06 is the 6% increase in power when using MR12 VP race gas, it’s oxygenated and fairly well documented to add 6% :)
192 was with the big cam and head work.

Thanks, tis what I suspected.
If I do the 210, we shall find out.
If 200+ is not reachable with CES I shall first go back to Treavor & Leslie to see what can be done.

I do suspect nels dyno should be named “the crusher” for crushing your hopes. I have a suspicion it reads a bit lower than many out there.

It most definitely does! Nels explained to me that a recent firmware upgrade lowered the readings by 5%.
Using the same Dyno is most consistent and helpful.
Any real comparisons must be done handlebar to handlebar!

Well hopefully I shall get it done one day soon ( @warp9.9 you listening?) and find out if my CES and tune guru can get it over that 200 mark.
Would like not to be required to get a Carp header with even less leg clearance.
The CES exhaust although better than the stock exhaust will not give you the HP-increase that a Carpenter exhaust will.

I do understand and accept that the Carp pipe produces more HP.
I mostly travel long distances on my R3R and right leg clearance for britches is important to me.
The Carp looks to me to have the least leg clearance of all and Paul's (@Paul Bryant ) Viking system the most. The CES is in between.
I would go with a Carp IF necessary to cross the 200 RWHP line, but I do not care for its crude yet effective design (springs???).
As stated before, I would contact Trevor at CES about increase of diameter and/or what could be done to improve his numbers.

And as far as cross country goes, they are really, really loud. At least on my Touring, though, I never noticed leg clearance issues, I'll check again when the weather improves.

I had a good look at Abe's @alpental when he was up here.
For me, with short legs, it is an issue, especially when utilizing the forward pegs.
I did like the deep sound of them.

Does the Carpenter Sidewinder pipe have good leg clearance? Do you all find it odd looking? How loud, any videos to hear it?

Would it feel a lot hotter than a stock header?

It’s designed to improve the clearance the brute had.

Odd but in a sexy octopus hugging the engine way.

Similar sound to the brute.

Yes, it’s warmer than stock, all aftermarket pipes are.
