Bikes we owned....way back when....

My first motorcycle. A Zanella 125. Made in Argentina. Gas tank looked like smashed loaf of bread. Mine didn't look nearly as good this picture.

My, first was a Honda 250 XL,in 1974 then A a 1975 Honda 750 Four with Hooker headers! So sweet, I wish I still had it! My brother-inlaw last year bought a 1976 Honda 750 and it brings back many fond memories!

My first bike was a Francis Barnet Falcon 81 back in 1969. I just wish I still had it now. I will always remember it. It was also the first one I dropped on a corner. I also had a James Cadet 147cc which I rode into a fence and wrote off. Still brings a tear to my eye after all these years. My riding seems to have improved now as I seem to be able to handle my Rocket ok. (hopefully I will continue to keep a bit of road sense)

My first motorized 2 wheel conveyance was a Cushman scooter followed by a Vespa. Did you know you can actually break a Vespa in half, I didn't either. Dirt bikes they aren't. :)

Then the first motorcycle was a 1966 Yamaha 60, followed closely by a Yamaha Street Twin 100 and a Yamaha Trail 100. Then I hit the big time and got a Yamaha Catalina (street) 250.

I still have that same bike in the rafters in the Workshop.

Mine was Yamaha FS1 SS in 1972 We were only allowed a max of 50cc when we turned 16 in South Africa.
It was my first taste of freedom and it seemed like "I could go anywhere now" Top speed about 60 miles an hour as long as there was no hill at all.
