Cams are sailing along there way also so its about to go down.
i just used the piston and tapped with wood block, tape rolls up gets tight and liner slides out. The damage was caused by too much compression, exhaust valves got to hot and stuck in guide, open, and piston broke off valve heads and beat stuff up, stock cams and 10.5:1 pistons dont work with timing being added. It was last day on dyno and running good at 160hp until catastrophic event happened at @7000rpm.
, kept in mind bowl size no more than 90% of valve, didnt mess with floor, basically just knocked off flashings and did a little shine, no rough edges anywhere. I hope i made this better than stock. Its dirty i just got done, got some cleaning and crocus cloth shining to do.
Did the block crack where the liner did, wise decision to start with another engine.
I dont see any obvious cracks but it is still fresh condition after splitting, oil and antifreeze on it, when i get done putting the new engine together then im gonna clean and inspect and i will get crank measured and im gonna put it back together all stock. Im gonna put spiroloc circlips on in/out shafts but thats it, just a stock engine ready to go. Thats the plan atleast
They make a penetrant dye spray and a spray developer to show cracks. Don't know the cost, shame, because doesn't take much to get results. Like the idea of using spirolocs. Do they fit the existing shafts without machine work?
