Yamaha rider - considering a new Rocket III - would like advice

I use mine to commute periodically with my lady on the back (she doesn't drive at all). Even with the extra passenger stop and go isn't bad. Though as others have pointed out, the beast is a furnace. I wasn't too shy about riding about in shorts before I got a R3, but now if I'm city riding I always make sure to have pants even on a hot day.

Just Get the H3ll out there and Test Ride it If it scares the crapper:eek: out of you go for something else but if like most here it leaves you feeling:D:D:D:D:D:D that you can't get enough of it Buy It!!! :)
Just a suggestion take your check book with you:whitstling::thumbsup:

I live in Los Angeles and ride my roadster to work every day... It great on the road and a lot of fun to take down Sunset BL on the way home...

I have ridden motorcycles for quite some time, and am currently riding a 1300 Yamaha cruiser. Yesterday, while window shopping at my local dealer, I spied a Rocket III on the floor and fell in love. But - this thing is gigantic. I would like to know - would this bike make for a suitable every day rider? I only own a bike - no car. So it's important that I can get around in the city without too much of an issue. any and all comments welcome.

Until a couple of weeks ago I rode an 1800cc Yamaha Stratoliner. If you can ride a large bike slowly and control it then go for the R3. If not invest in a riding class or padding so you don't scratch up the bike in traffic! LOL!
