Anyone else very close to the point where its time to put the Rocket to hibernate?
It's getting dark very early these days, along with the constant wind and dark clouds... snow is coming soon. I fear I may have only a few days of riding left and then no more bike till April or May.
Sucks to be you...God blessed Texas!...if you don't like the weather here, just wait a few minutes. But seriously, there was only one month last year in which I didn't ride, and that was mainly because I couldn't fit it in my schedule.
October is my favorite time of year for riding especially here in NewEngland. I'm hoping to get in two more long rides before the snow flys. After October it's hard to find anyone willing to venture out most of my friends are getting long in the tooth and wimp out when the temperature falls below 40*.Living on the coast I usually ride up untill the the second week of December and call it quits after that.

The side roads were slower to clear like most cities but me and a fellow rider would get out the shovel or snow blower and clear the street out to the main road so we could keep riding.
Here in Northern Virginia, I see the adds coming from the area bike shops offering either classes on winter storage/set up or even in some cases, winter storage for a nominal fee. One HD offeres free storage for deploying military year round on a first come basis. Last winter, the weather guesser billed it as the fourth largest snowfall on record for this area; I lost 8 days of riding due to snow...
