What do you wear when it's hot riding your rocket ?

Mr Caution says: All the gear, all the time.

If it's too hot for you to ride grab a cold beer and clean the bike in the shade.

Here in Queensland it is rarely not warm/hot but I always wear full gear, maybe flip the helmet chin guard up, but I never compromise my hide!

Another thing to bear in mind when riding in hot weather is fluid loss when moving through air. Many inexperienced riders going on a long ride in a tee-shirt may suffer the effects of dehydration which will impair brain function and may lead to an accident.

When this happens you will have the added problem of not being properly protected... a kind of lose-lose situation. :banghead:

Ain't that cute, all dressed up to match the bike. That's what it's all about. :D

Gets pretty hot here in Dallas during the Summer and I ride every day, take off the windscreen and put on the mesh jacket. but I always wear a full face helmet, boots, gloves, riding pants etc.

Yes, I agree those of us who have slid on the pavement for a ways understand the importance of being protected!

ATGATT here too. Seen too many examples of people coming off unprotected. Luckily my Draggins aren't windtight and my jacket has plenty of vents. Is fine as long as moving

- 40ºC in Germany - JESUS!

HEFEWEIZEN bitte.

Yep, going on 9 days now without a high less than 38....farkin crazy!!!!
Noch eins Weizen bitte!!

Back to gear, has anyone tried the draggin shirts? Worth the money? Big question, do they breath yet replace the (skid) protection of a jacket for casual riding?

We've had 40ºtemps for a couple of weeks or so now - I happen to like it - but must folk are wilting.

The problem with aramid shirts is whilst they may not rip - they will still give you friction burns.
And a ruddy shirt is NOT going to keep al that lovely InfraRed at bay. Really.
Nothing keeps the heat off like leather - it's why firemans helmets are made of leather.

Conceptually this is as close to perfection as it gets -

Bought my missus one on a trip to the UK last year. I think I'll order mine now - as they now send free worldwide.
