Tranny problems in the older bikes.

Hellwalker

I think your right about British USA, they seem to passive.

After 3 days of trying to get a hold of Triumph customer service with no luck I called British to see what they had to offer. They said they didnt know about the kit's and that Triumph would just tell me to take it in to see what the problem is.

Well I have two problems with that. 1. I already heard they aren’t doing the tranny work as good faith repair so that bring me to problem 2. I get it in there and they find the bad parts an Triumph say's sorry now I have a bike in peaces and I cant afford the labor. Sheesh what a pickle.

I can tell you first hand from working at dealerships that their response is their first attempt at making you go away and determining if you are serious. You have to be willing to pay for the repair yourself either way. They want to see if you will commit to the repair by having it diagnosed, torn down and a solution itemized. If you are committed to going that far and have specific numbers in parts and labor, then contact them with specifics you stand a much better chance of getting the manufacturer to participate.
There is never any guarantee's, but you stand a much better chance of getting them to help.

I agree 100% a good plan is to be prepared to pay whatever it cost to fix. But again they know about the kit, I talked to them before, my buddy David talked to them before, so the feeling I get is they just don't want to mess with it? They sell lots of brands of Euro bikes and they have a small but decent size service area (at-least the part I was in and took pictures of David's Rocket torn down) maybe the Rocket is not worth the hassle to them because they are so busy. They are friendly and seem like good people but this bothered me, cause I have allot invested in this bike, I don't feel like they got my back or would go the extra mile for me.

Triumph

Well I have called customer service every day 2 to 3 times a day and no response. I finely gave the secretary a piece of my mind and she said all the service guys are all out to shows and visiting dealers till next Wed.
Man I can't get a break here shesh.

Stick with it , Paul. What the sect'y told you is true. I know my service manager will be at Triumph USA in AZ next week (I think) for some kind of training/updating, so be patient. Again, emphasize the "pickle" that you're in and that you are an original owner who assumed that they were still honoring their problems when you disassembled your bike. I'm afraid you will have to figuratively prostrate yourself at their mercy. It seems that they've gotten to the point of wanting the dealerships to at least earn some coin on the labor side of fixing these types of preexisting "time bomb" problems. Tough break!

Ugh!!!!!!

Ok, get this. I final got a hold of Scott at customer service and made my case. He told me there is no “upgrade kit” for repairing any transmission problems in the bike. The only kit is a repair kit they provide why a bike is tore down, the kit replaces parts that you would at any tare down. He also denies knowing anything about Triumph doing any good will or other repairs on tranny’s on bike’s out side the warranty period.

He told me to take it in and have the dealer look at it an make a case to Triumph to do anything for me. He said they would take the bikes condition into consideration but doubts Triumph will do anything this far out side warranty. I told him I know of others and he played dumb.
Anyone who has seen my bike knows its in great condition no Mod’s at all and only has about 16000 miles.

So at this point I guess I have to take it in and be at Triumphs mercy, or I drive it till it don’t drive no more. My other dilemma is where to take it. I want to go somewhere a dealer will fight for me and from what I have heard it’s not my local dealer.

Any suggestions, I cant pull my hair out I don’t have any..:confused::confused::confused::confused:

This is bull****, time for a recall, the act dumb crap does not wash, time for a petition, If they want to Fu#k us Rocket owners around they can suffer the consequences, same with the spline crap. F them *******s this makes me F'n MAD.
