Things I really like about my Rocket

What gets me every time isn't the engine, I expect that awesomeness now. It's how this thing feels in the curves. Sure, I had to put Progressive 444 HD's on it first, but with that and Avons this thing doesn't even have a hint of instability of wobble or wallowing... it's not even a challenge to scrape the footplates, the challenge is to not do it. Just the train-like stability overall combined with the instant power... yeah, there's no way I can ever downgrade from this. And thankfully the mechanical shop I use is awesome, even though ****ing Triumph removed their dealership status just because they were too small to have one of everything on display. They still have the manuals and know-how though.

Did you find wobble an issue prior to adding the 444s?

Not an issue as such, but it definitely didn't handle like it does now, especially when fully loaded with luggage and the like, there were definitely tendencies to "wallow" a little in the turns. That might also have been tire-related, no clue. The front still needs work too, but right now the bike handles in ways you don't expect 900 lbs of bike to handle.

I'm still running stock suspension and find no wallowing issues at all. Someday I'm gonna have to upgrade suspension just to see what all the buzz is about. I can say she enters more smoothly and stays more stable since I ditched the metzlers a few years ago.
Speaking of scraping boards...are those nub screws expensive to replace? I really don't want to go to triumph for them and mine are about gone?

Maybe the touring is more prone to wallowing than the roadster? Just wondering based on croft and your bike.

I imagine there's a difference with the heavier load and narrower tire.
I agree with him completely that better tires make a world of difference. And the way everyone talks about the suspension it must be a great improvement too. I just haven't found her lacking with stock. Someday you'll see the bulb over my head too, I'm sure, when I do finally put them on. I'll need a drawer full of those nubs if that ever happens.
I do notice if my son's on the back of the bike the boards are scraping a lot easier (though I'm actually trying harder not too!) probably due to not adjusting my shocks for the extra load.

I was at the tail of the Dragon last year with my last bike (2010 r3t) and definitely saw the need for better suspension. On some of the tight turns with elevation changes I had to take them lighter than I would have liked. That said its a 900 lbs bike with a 350 lbs guy on the back. So it performedbeyond my expectations.

Maybe I néed to put suspension on the wish list

Primarily I notice it going over rough surfaces and small road imperfections/tiny holes, the kind of stuff that used to rattle my teeth with the stock Kayabas is now not even noticeable with the 444 HD. I suspect though that the difference in the corners is a combo of Avon Cobras over old Metzerlers as well as the new shocks.

However, the front is now noticeably much worse than the rear, every bump is THUD up front and then a minor undulation in the rear. Which is why I've been trying to find out if any suitable Ricor Intinimators can be found for the bike.

Well I know you guys aren't talking about R3T Trikes but I am amazed at how well it handles in sharper turns at higher than normal speeds (for a Trike). One thing I absolutely love is the active air bag rear suspension on this trike. Literally 100% better than my 2012 triglide that I had before the R3T. I'm a big guy and Angie rides with me a lot and she loves to pack tons of stuff in the trunk, and this thing does not miss a beat suspension wise or power wise (I've had the trike two weeks and I already have a few stories of riding with Harley friends and them being pissed off at the end of the ride for them getting left by a trike). Hahahaha loving it

one of my favorite things about the beast is blipping the throttle whilst cruising down the hiways at 80 mph. the way it instantly surges with all that torque, as if she is begging for more.:D:D:):)
