Suspension upgrade question

Whew, glad those Onlins (S46PR1C1) came out after I did my Wilbers. Those babies are pricey, but I would have bought them, I love the Onlins feel.

The Wilbers are close to the Ohlins feel, a touch more aggressive in the damping tuning maybe.

I think Wilbers Nightline 642s are a good match up to those Ohlins for a little less money.

I don't know if anybody has tried MAXTON REARS - They are also made to order - fully bespoke to rider weight/style etc. £470.00 (+ V.A.T UK/EU) a pair. imo that's not bad.

In OZ I'd talk to GAZI. I've ridden an old Guzzi fitted with GAZI made to order.
Old Guzzis have notorious rear suspension issues due to the weight of the rear diff' raising unsprung weight on an otherwise NOT THAT HEAVY bike. GAZI controlled it.
I wanted Air shocks - so Fournales it is.

And Gazi are Aussie too, CanberraR3 was very happy with them on his Scrambler

HX900300 is for Bonneville and Speedmaster, Thruxton uses a HX600335
Nice but it isn't available as a Rocket fitment. Maybe available as a custom order.

Having just had a look - tbh I think the remote reservoir might well foul things. Will it actually fit without fouling? - ah well that's for Gazi to know.

In the numbers - SX900315 for example - 315 refers to eye-eye length - So a HX900300 with +15 eyelet is correct - the 900 refers to spring weight. Identical in both.

But in OZ - no doubt - I'd call and ask.

Here local to me there is a small company that makes Shocks - and they're VERY GOOD. DMX Suspension.
Learned of them after I had the rear sorted. They'll be fitting the Maxton fork setup for me and replacing seals etc.

They investigated doing an R3 fork kit for me but came to the conclusion it would cost too much.
We even looked at using the KYB Motocross Air system.

Thanks for the info guys
I'll probably go with Gazi on the rear, they are local and can be tuned to the riders weight.
Albion is only 20min from my place so I'll catch up with them next week to get their advice,
I've also been speaking to Olver's bike shop and they recommend Gazi on rear and race tech springs on the front.

I have the heaviest rate Racetech springs on the front of my Sprint ST 1050 (I am a very large lump), great choice and many suspension tuners prefer the single rate springs to the compromise progressive type.

Going local with Gazi will be good for everyone.

Piggyback should fit without interfering with anything, unless you have saddle bags. I had to use really small bags to avoid them touching, and that required .going the bags towards the rear a bit.

I have read only good things about Gazis, and they are reasonably priced. Looking at there catalog they o my list the Sports for the R3, but I don't see a reason the Hyper with piggybacks wouldn't fit. It has the same spring rate selection too.

With the current exchange rate the Gazis are an absolute Steal for US buyers!!

Barbagris, Thinking of going the Maxton route myself, be interested to hear your verdict once you 've got it all fitted up.
