Starting over with 2022 R - best bang for 3-5k

I think I might start with a tune for now and the Verex. They have been very responsive to my questions.

It might be enough power for now. My daily riders are a LiveWire (LW) and a modded H2. I am looking for the R3 to be a blend. The LW is phenomenal off the line but is speed limited to about 115. The H2 is very fast up top but I'd like more torque at launch and lower RPMs.

So I am looking for the R3 to sort of be the bridge between the 2. Off the line the R3 is pretty good but runs out of breath at higher speeds but still better than the LW. The R3 is quicker off the line, and easier to launch than the H2 but not in the same league as the H2. I hope the modded R3 will sort of be the Goldilocks option for daily riding.

I will say the LW is awesome on a hot day as there is no motor and radiator dumping heat and roasting my chestnuts. My old R3 was pretty bad about that and I haven't ridden the new one to see if it is substantially worse or better in this area.

I'm not understanding how the Verex seals off to the header. The pictures look like it just slips inside the header. I don't see any kind of sealing flange or gasket. Curious about what keeps things from leaking.

I posed a variation of that question and waiting to hear back. I also asked about how much the db killer helps. I don't have all the details about the testing regime but it does help me with my decision. Basically when I fire the bike up and leave the garage, my wife and neighbors aren't going to be yelling at me. I've taken to pushing my H2 away from the house a bit before I light it up, as my wife instantly informs me of my mistake as soon as I get home.

Overall it looks very much like what I am looking for so will pull the trigger this week pending their reply on the gasket.

I hear you on that. Most of the roads are pretty good where I am at. Normally I invest in brakes, suspension, and then motor. So far the brakes are pretty good, suspension is good enough for now as no real back roads (and have another bike for that). That leaves getting a bit more punch out of the rocket.

I just realized I spent more on brakes for my car than I actually did for my Rocket. Then again its brakes were ****e and one hard stop from triple digit speeds was about all it could handle. Or maybe 2 from about 150+ down to 90+ somewhere in Mexico.

There is this low cost XB Extreme Blaster exhaust that goes for around $300 on ebay. It's supposed to be tunable like a SuperTrapp. But, it looks like all that holds it on is the connecting flange. I don't really think that is a good design. Seems prone to exhaust leaks.
