I remember when most older diesel engines and big gas engines in the construction industry had a decompression lever to hold valves slightly open to allow engines to spin freely, build heat and oil pressure. They did that with a small starting engine that was mounted to the main engine before they went to a direct start battery power.I assume pulling the plugs serves the same purpose as a decompression switch, my Stihl demolition saw has one to make it easier to pull.
Yup, that's my background tooI remember when most older diesel engines and big gas engines in the construction industry had a decompression lever to hold valves slightly open to allow engines to spin freely, build heat and oil pressure. Sounds like you can rule starter out, sounds like starter button not making contact every time, slide it out of handle grip, polish contact points with crocus cloth or 400 sandpaper and lube with small amount of dielectric grease. Like everyone is saying, need to determine if battery is good first and foremost, then work SYSTEMATICLLY to find problem, jumping around just leads to frustration. Believe adding higher amp. relay won't increase/make amps, would just allow higher amps. to flow through, stock relay plenty strong enough. Claviger gave you some good things to do to help determine where problem is. Turbo's post about multimeter was solid. Reread the posts, everyone wants to help to see you ride. Keep working/thinking, you'll figure it out.Ok I took the Triumph starter out and opened it and looks nice as clean as my car one as you can see in picture.
When it starts it fires up nice but when it doesn't you just get a click the starter doesn't spin or fire up its like I'm not getting any power to there starter? I tried to get new relays and same thing .
I put cable on positive and cable on starter and starter will spin.
What will stop the starter frome not getting power all the time?
I bought new relays 12 volts I noticed the starter relay is 14 but relay is clicking so I would assume starter relay is good?
Claviger, said something about ignition circuit two relays which I don't understand how to do.
So thinking if I bought a stronger relay than a 14 say 20 or 30 ? Will that be doing the same thing?

My friend knows a bike mechanic and he's coming over here tonight at 7:30 pm so I'll let him read all your guys great solutions that might be the problem , that will give him a better idea on what could be the problem on the Rocket and hopefully he can get it cracking every time. I'll keep you guys posted and see who's correctfingers crossed.
