From my experience, I recommend NOT going with short shockies.
$hit will drag and gouge! Things can/will get muy peligroso rápido!!!

I think this may have something to do with the pilot - perhaps - hmmmm

I have not ground anything in ages (with Classic boards and over-length warning pins) - pretty much since I changed the rears to Fournales (a bit over length iirc). And I am close to running off both tyres - So I don't intend to push further to find out - OK?

Good shorter travel hydraulics would not be choppy. Well, SHOULD not be. I have reduced my front travel and it's like velvet. Better than full travel. Knocked about 18-20mm off. No real nose diving even at rear rubber loses traction levels.

With hindsight (it's a wonderful thing) - I would liked to have had adjustable 2(3) stage damping. But it's one less thing for me to play with.
 

They are the correct spring for Standard Duty which for most users would include a pillion or luggage at least some of the time.

With your 200lb solo you are obviously at the lower end of your current spring rate range 210-250lb per spring (410-500lb total) hence not much if any sag. Remember the weight of the bike over the rear wheel has to be supported as well as the rider/passenger and luggage.

I would get a lighter spring if you do not carry much if any luggage or passenger and want a softer feel which may compromise your handling slightly when pushing it hard.

No problems at all with the 444-4233b shocks. (Fat Boy) If I was 50 to 75 pounds lighter would have gone with the 444-4209b. Just saying
 
That's coz you gotta tie yourself down with bungey straps to avoid blowing off ! Your bike don't even know your on it .
 
I have the shocks backed all the way off and I can't get an inch of sag let alone 1.25" of sag. The guy that I spoke to at Progressive said that they did not have a lighter spring that they could install on the shocks. I kinda found that hard to believe too, but that is my luck !
 
Well that was clearly bullsh*t, I just posted one ( Post#64 above) and if you look at the link to the Progressive .pdf document you will see there are lighter and heavier springs than the ones I posted and you have.

Silly man - I use magnetic boots - it is the 21st century after all. How they work on aluminum is a mystery though.
And anyway, I have a thing called a WIND-SCREEN. Excellent for us weight challenged types. ------------------- Fatty!.
And it knows! - it sings with joy, and the whole world hears.

They need to be magnetic or summat , else you be blowing around in the wind like a Jolly Roger !
