Just to be 100% clear, did you specifically tell them they should be standard duty rated springs as that was what your ordered?
If they just forwarded them to their tech to check and if it is a Heavy Duty spring, the spring tension may be correct for the spring that they tested and confirmed was to specifications but not their suitability to your actual riding weight.

Yea I did, and I will verify part number again. I had progressive shocks on my America and I was happy with them but these not so much! Not sure what I will do next.

I went back through my emails of where I purchased them from and I ordered the black ones and I went with the 12" shocks and the part number was 444-229B. Does that sound correct??? I will have to wait till I get my shocks back from Progressive to verify those numbers on my shocks if they are stamped or anything. This is the luck that I have !!! Always something!

Yep, as Sonny said:

12" is shorter than stock. Ride will be stiffer.

So they put the same springs on the 12" shocks that normally would be on the 12.5" shocks??? or do they put stiffer springs on the 12" shocks??? That doesn't make sense to me but not saying that you are not correct.

You could ask them but that may well be the case so the spring may be already preloaded, hence no sag with your lightweight (for a Rocket captain;):D) 200ib. I've got 13".

Got my new Nitro's installed today. Went all silver. I like the look. There +20MM. Feel great sitting but unfortunately I’m chasing a slow rear tire leak so that will need to be fixed before I can do a real ride.

OK, I finally received my shocks back from Progressive. Looking at the numbers on the springs they have 1436 210/250 printed on them. I would assume that they would be the standard duty springs. I put all my weight on the shocks and they do not move the slightest bit and that is with the springs backed all the way off. Progressive says they check out just fine. I can't believe that they check out. This was very disappointing and I am getting ready to go on a big ride. I will be cringing at the sight of any bump in the road !!! :banghead:

Great advice! Makes it much easier!
Out of the 9 settings where did you set yours? I got mine at 4 grooves showing.

I would consider setting your static sag at 1.25 inch rear and 1.4 inch front for a start.
