Russell Day Long.....Ya Baby!!

Lol....never thought of it that way, good point. Lucky for me my wife is only 100 pounds soaking wet so no issues there with her thinking her rear end is that big...lol...
It's the wings they put on the seat that makes it wider. Just to explain, when you sit in the saddle those wings make kind of a cup that wraps around your rear end.. Hard to explain, you don't sit on the seat you kind of sit in the seat, it's quite firm, you don't sink in, it's just support. All I can say is that it is comfortable.
Anyway, you guys are right, it does change the look of the rocket, not as sporty with this saddle...

I like the look it suits my big beast (bike that is before you smart lipped Aussies start). :p

Kevin...reading over your original post I realized that you got a bunch of optional things with your seat like the pouch etc.....how much was just the driver's seat? And am I correct that you have to send them your original seat for the pan? ie they don't offer a complete replacement in case you wanted to keep your stock seat.

No problem Jeff;
Seat was $760,that is the dual price for a fitted drivers and pillion all leather. Just the drivers seat would have been $615. They have various prices based on vinyl, leather or a combination of both.

Yes you have to send them your entire seat as they use the stock seat pan. This was one of the main reasons I chose them. I've read many posts that Corbin makes their own seat pan and some customers have complained about figment. Also as I have not modified my air intake, I didn't want to use an aftermarket seat pan. If a guy wants just the driver seat done I don't think $615 plus shipping is a bad price for a custom all leather seat when you compare it to Corbin.

I am looking forward to spring more that ever now, as I'm sure everyone who has to deal with winter is. I have a trip planed from here to the Grand Canyon then over to San Diego and back up the coast, about 6000k round trip. That will be a good test for this seat I think.

I always get a Russell seat, but I never get the pillion suspension. I just go with the rider mods, and then cover the whole thing with leather. It costs about half as much for just the rider seat.
I think I've got a gallery here somewhere, and on that gallery there are pictures of at least one of my R3Ts with a Russell installed.
I have lost a lot of weight, and I thought that I might go back to the stock seat because of this. I tried stock again, and I like the way the bike handles better with the stock seat than with the Russell. However for long rides, the Russell's comfort is so appreciated, that I've gone ahead and reinstalled the Russell for general use.
