DAYTONA BOOTS - HUGE SALE!

Not so, my friend.
Other than for racing, on the street I wore high quality work and tactical boots for 53 years.
Three years ago I gave light wright high quality boots made for motorcycles a try.
Will never go back. My Daytona boots are so comfy and light weight, I can wear them around all day - and NO laces!
I just ordered me a second pair. Gonna try the Gaerne G-Prestige Gore-Tex Boots because they are instep zippered and with from my old broken back, zippers on the outside are difficult and painful for me.
I hope they are close to as good quality as the Daytona.

Same with my First Gear boots. They have an inside covered zipper and are very comfortable to wear riding all day and then walk to the restaurant at the end of the ride. Waterproof and similar in design to other quality MC boots. Like you Steve, I generally won't wear any boot that is not designed specifically for riding.

I’m currently wearing a pair of Goretex Danners. I know they offer some protection but not near the best, but I can wear those puppies all day, every day in any weather, they just lack the type of protection you need on a bike.

Until I can find something that gives me the comfort and enhanced protection for the foot and ankle I’ll just stick with these.

Probably the boot that I owned that offered the best protection was a boot designed for adventure touring ( on and off road) but they were the worst to walk in. They also take a long time to break in.

Try those Daytona boots, you'll not go back to Danner!

@1olbull Steve - A bit off tack. Have you tried the BOA speed-lacing system yet? - I keep "almost" buying something with BOA - usually find they don't have my size!.

I had no idea what this was Chris until I saw an ad in Rider magazine last night. Pretty trick. Unfortunately those boots retailed for $499, not for me. It also occurred to me that my riding buddy has those on a pair of high end work boots. He showed them to me six months ago but I didn't realize it was a BOA system until reading the MC boot ad.

Steve, I love those Gasolina boots and I know a pair is in my future. Which one's do you have?

Mike,
They are fun to wear. Mine are the "Classic" and go up near my knees.
You made me look and I now see they have many more versions of boots!
In the taller boots, the rear entry additions are the "Midnight" and "Typhoon" versions.
The Midnight has more substantial soles and the Typhoon are perforated.
I'd now go for the perforated Typhoon since I wear them for day rides and not traveling.
