Rear Metzeler goooooone

My Michelin Commander ll front has close to 18000 mi on it.The rear has about 17000 mi. on it very happy with thes e tires .Milage and performance

Curious what size Commander II is on your front.
I only got 4K on the one I tried, but it was a 140, not a 150.
Good to hear about your good mileage as I will likely try another Michelin up front after this Azaro I recently installed.

The front is a 130 bike is a R3T bias

Woah!
I thought the R3T had a 150/80 R16!?!?!
Here is what I pulled from the Triumph site:

  • Front Tires150/80 R16
  • Rear Tires180/70 R16

This combination was a result of replacing the Rear OEM metz with the Avon Cobra at 6000k Gaaawwwn! then old mate at the bike shop advised me to try the bias Exedra max Front as he was getting good reports from other riders of big cruisers of this front tyre so here I am 8000ks later the tyre is still 60% according to the tread gauge and doing the job nicely, the front Metz lasted 10000K but was badly cupped .

Thanks for the response, M8!
I am going to look into this . . . makes me very curious.

Yeah that is called for steered like a truck ,the 130 really made steering nimble. The rear is a 180/65/16

Interesting that you are running mixed radial and bias as that's supposedly taboo!
You cannot run a radial and a bias on the same axle, so no problem there for motorcycles - as long as they aren't trikes. You can run a radial on the rear and bias on the front, but not the other way round.
