Rear Diff Drain Bolt

That must be mild steel, if you could get a high tensile bolt the same size and drill it to fit the magnet it should be a lot stronger. Maybe something for Flip to look at if he has the time.

Ordered two replacement bolts for myself as well. I didn't use a torque wrench on it last time when I tightened it, but was very careful in the application of "gute-n-tight" with my wrist and ratchet

Hey Dave, mine looked just like that when I got it out tonight.:D
Remember when I talked to you on the phone, i thought I could leave it alone, it wasn't leaking out.
When I got home today, I checked it again and it had been leaking a little... Anyway, I did just like you said, and tapped it in. Used an easy out and she came right out.
After going to Summit Racing and the only bike shop around, I ended up having to go to Lowes to get a bolt that fit until a new one gets here....
Thanks for the help Dave. :D

Can't say that I have had that problem, but I have sheared a few other bolts on my Rocket. Sheared one on the under side of my tank, that holds the fuel pump assembly. That was bad news! It took me about a month to get a new stud welded back on, and the gasket to seal properly. Don't over torque those, it leads to heartache.

yeah, I invested in a $40 torque wrench just to put this bolt back in after reading this thread.... The problem was, I broke it off while Un-screwing it BY HAND after loosening it w/ the torque wrench...
Well, I have the torque wrench for future projects now.
