RAMAIR Filters bespoke Rocket-3 underclaw filter.

I have to ask .... Where are the results as I have either missed them here somewhere or they have not been published as yet, not That I have any interest except to see how they compared out of pure curiosity

I think I will be going with the Ramair for the simple reason it is designed for the rocket, keeps everything else in place and apparently no crickets. But I'm still interested in a dyno comparison as I'm still running standard under seat and can go either way pods or Ramair. Would be good to see a dyno graph with small pods and Rebands, large pods and Rebands and Ramair and Rebands. I realise this costs time and money and it's a bit much to ask a professional if there is nothing in it for him. If it isn't possible I'll just have to make a decision on what I've read on here.

" My computer has taken a dump. Thats why slow response. I think the Ramair is an excellent alternative for those who wish to retain the bearclaw. Back to back on a stock engined bike with Full Reband exhaust and the RU1770 filters, we only lost 1.3 hp. This would make them BETTER than the weener K&N's which fit under the bearclaw. More info to come when I catch up from having no computer. I would use them for sure unless the engine was highly modified. "

(Please note that his 'puter is dead and he is unable to reply to any queries at the moment..........)

Thanks for that Ruzzle, and that is pretty much what expected to hear, just the extra surface area alone would allow them flow better than the 2780's I was just curious as to whether they would flow as much as the RX 4040 which would have surprised me if they did but to come within 1.3 hp of the RU 1770 is still impressive

I'm more curious to see how the 4040 & the Pipercross compare.
To be Honest seeing as the Pipercross is just bigger version of what the RamAir is, it would have to flow better than the RX 4040
(only slightly bigger than the RU 1770) but if I was going to run a single aircleaner like the PiperCross I would want cover it (the looks do nothing for me)with a cold air scoop like OzRider Les has created because it would hide it and improve the cool air flowing over it.
I personally like the look of the RX 4040 the way I have them but will be looking at creating (with Les's guidance and help) a scoop similar to what les has made purely to just make sure I am getting as much cool air over the filters

Just my opinion: I have no doubts that the Ramair filter will outperform the 2780's in every way. However, I would not be surprised if the factory filter set up out performs the Ramair in low end torque. The long runners in the factory set up are designed just for that. The bad thing is that those long runners then choke the engine as RPM increases. It is quite likely that the inlet nech radius of the Ramair will retain most of the low end performance that is lodt with the 2780's.

As someone pointed out earlier, the Ramair is made for our bikes, that is a big plus to me.
