I'm inclined to think the "torque dip" at 3000-ish can be eradicated by some means - maybe with the secondary butterflies. I will have to put my thinking head on and dig some books out.

Mitch's bike made a very different induction noise to my bike.. wasn't chirping at all .. was a nice noise actually. Pleased that I don't have to endure the chirping any longer.

Had a closer look at the charts again. The dip in torque appears to a lesser extent on the first dyno run & coincides with a slight dip in power, but disappears after the tune, the bigger dip appears when it went back a couple of days later with the cat box removed, but coincides with a very slight drop in the power curve, all at 3200 revs. Don't have the answers but there does seem to be some consistency. I will take it up with the tuners, see if they can throw any light on it, wonder if the A/T will smooth it over time?

Loss of power? Im happy with the results i got with 2780 filters and there was 0 loss of power only gains in torque and hp.

I was thinking that, there's got to be a reason why Triumph put them there.

Pretty sure we're yet to see any numbers showing conclusively there is any marked improvement in power with the Ramair over the 2780s or stock for that matter. Not knocking it and the simplicity and design coupled with the fact it appears totally fit for purpose seem to make it a winner, but claims about performance improvements are a little over the top at this stage. We know the Ramair filters being tested are brand new, but what state are the K&Ns in, for example? Anyone done a run with dirty filters and then compared to a run with clean ones? Surely we'd want to see consistent results from many bikes, not just 1 or 2, under controlled conditions, before jumping to that conclusion. So far it's a good alternative.

You're right of course, only time and more examples will tell the whole story but going by Nev's earlier post the Ramair looks like it could very well deliver.

I've been misunderstood previously (that most likely being due to my writing style or sense of humour) so not to make that mistake again - I'm not knocking the K&N's. They have been the only viable 'under bearclaw' option up until now and to be honest they would have been fitted to my bike long ago if wasn't for the negative comments on this and other forums. I'm just saying that 'in my opinion' it looks likely there is a better option available now, especially if you haven't forked out for K&N's already.

I know that some are going to be upset by my comment but **** ya , I think too many are worried about what a dyno sheet will look like when they are comparing *****size with their mates. Who gives a **** if one has 2 or 3 or even 5 hp more than the other most of you would never use it or be capable of using it. Unless you are racing your bike competitively than will it matter? I think it is a great idea and looks better than having 3 pods sticking out the side of the bike like an eyesore , and to gain some storage under the seat for a hat sunscreen or wet weather pants is fantastic .
