here in lie my predicament...
Get the Trophy and hole shot it straight through in one day - 1287miles from my house, meaning more time with you bastards...
or get the R3Roadster and have to 2 day it there and 2 day it back and not spend all the time with you guys...

Also a whole lot less fuel and stops on the Trophy

going back tonight to look at them both again

Some of you know that I've been dubbed the 'RIDE NAZI' cause I sometimes sound like I'm pushing people into riding more than they might like. So remember this is only a suggestion...

I have been in pre-planning mode and after looking @ the maps, I saw this as a possible idea of doing this on the way to Montrose...

Easterners & south easterners could meet up @ Colorado Springs on Sat night (21st). (CO Springs is about 684 miles from Tulsa)

Sunday (22nd) (weather permitting) ride Pikes Peak then Mount Evans and stay along I-70 (maybe Eagle, CO) (about 317 VERY LONG miles)

Monday (23rd) do a scenic rt into Montose. (depending on rt selection, a pretty easy day, under 200 miles)

Tues-Friday loops around Montrose.

Sat. (28th) I prob'ly head thru Utah to visit family in Ogden but if anyone, with more time, wants to do a side trip through somewhere I might be interested (I know Nolton had mentioned Yellowstone @ one time.)

Any interest in this?

Have you ever done 1,000 plus miles before?

The Rocket can get close to 200 miles on a tank. Maybe 180 if you are pushing the speed limit or have a headwind. How long is your bladder good for?

When other guys are doing the Iron-butt rallies I usually tag along to take pictures for them.
Had 3 R3's already and know what to expect on the mpg's...

bought a Triumph Tiger once, on a Tuesday, brought it back the next day for its first oil change... Left to go see family in Mission Texas on that Thursday, decided to stop in New Orleans on the way back so had lunch there on Saturday and was back home in Chicago on Sunday. The Dealer was closed on Monday so I stopped by on Tuesday a week later with 7843miles on her.
