I was wondering why only the 2star rating . When they do these polls they should visit a larger cross section of the r3 community .confidience grows with experience and learning how and what with you can improve your riding experience . for example the Bridgestone exedra max with 45 psi on rear and the mitchelin commander 140 with 44psi on the front . It gives me more confidience going through the twisties .
Ok the thing is that they HAVE to compare apples to apples. So a modified spec bike can't play.

In most of the EU for example the E-MAX and 140/75 front cannot LEGALLY be fitted without an individual homologation. This costs money and most simply wont do it. The fact that just as equally the traffic cops don't care is beside the point. Ditto non € marked pipes. I have non € pipes and run Darkside front and rear. Guilty as charged.

Right now I have to decide whether I pay out for a second set of rims with OEM spec tyres and want to go through the hassle of changing the exhausts (which means I also have to move the side cases) every time a MoT is due. It's a tough decision. Here the MoT is every 2 years - but if it were yearly - tougher still.

Well the PIA that I am, I wrote Motorcycle News... see below.

They had one review...

From me:
In viewing the review of the Rocket III, I was very surprised at the Owner’s ratings, especially the handling and value of only 2 stars. Triumph Rocket III Roadster (2009-current) - Triumph Motorcycle Reviews

It handles very well for a bike of its size, more like a 250kg bike. Most riders would consider the slow speed handling very balanced.
Value, the price speaks for itself… it’s twice the bike of any large cruisers at a much lower price, HD being the highest volume benchmark.

I’d like to understand who you spoke too, how are owners ratings gathered and validated?

I’m also a member of an owners group, and I’d be surprised if they would agree with the ratings… http://www.r3owners.net/rocket-iii-roadster/16590-only-two-stars.html

From MCN:

Hi Stephan,

Thanks for your mail.

Our reader reviews are generated by users of the website, and then the scores are averaged out. As you can see on this review we only currently have a single, user review of the Rocket III so this would be why the score is displayed as a 2xStar – this is the score that this single user gave the bike.

In order for this to be corrected we would need to receive more user reviews.

You’ll notice that MCN have given the bike a clear 4xStar mark across all the criteria.

Hope this helps?

I don't see, perhaps I'm just blind, but I don't see where it states there is only one reviewer in the review... Steve Hunt states that "as you can see", and I don't see...

Good work Stephan, I don't see either. What I do see is validation of my decision to avoid reading thinly veiled advertorial-based pseudo-journalism bull****.

P.S. Steve Hunt - no relation ;)
